I always liked this version of Clark Kent more than any other because it's not about the looks, it's about the personality. Clark wants nobody to know that he's Superman but wants to live his life as a regular person. So instead of altering his look, he creates a personality that's so opposite of his real self (aka Superman) that no one would ever think for one moment that Clark Kent is the Man of Steel. The glasses are just icing on the cake.

I love this idea that he acts perfectly normal as a superhero, but is clumsy as a normal man, not knowing how to act. Like, I’ve always wondered whenever he bumps into someone or something, if they would feel the impact being harder than a normal person impact, given that Clark’s body is hard (no dirty joke intended) and invulnerable. And if he hits something like a door, it would get damaged as well, whereas it would not if a normal person hit it
@Shanethefilmmaker4 жыл бұрын
Part of how he's able to do the role as the foppish Clark Kent, is that he incorporates his powers in a different way. For example, whenever he bumps into someone. He uses his super speed and senses to anticipate any oncoming person that would bump into them. While he can't feel pain, he can feel touch and vibrations, so that if someone touches him, he can push himself back so to lessen the impact of the hit so they wouldn't know they're hitting a man of steel. In the case of doors, same thing only he can stop a door from hitting him hard enough to shatter.
@BungieStudios4 жыл бұрын
Exactly he cushions his impact and has stated multiple times in other media that he is careful to hold back his real strength/power. He's always walking on eggshells.

There actually is a scene in the movie where Lois squeezes in front of Clark, while at the office, and then immediately turns around and gives him a look of surprise. (speaking of 'hard'). Why was there so much more footage just for tv? That is annoying that it isnt in the film bc everything from then is gold. Maybe tv deals b4 rentals were a huge deal? The salkans were a weird duo they threw tons of at the time big money at people then would get very cheap. Like they payed then very new director donner a million bucks which is a lot of money in 19765 when they contacted him & brando got 3.4 million plus 10 % of the gross ( that's the best thing to get are the points off the back end & why the salkans didnt want brando for the 2nd film. They tried to be shifty & pay him for one film when they did two . Lois was so mean to clarke when he is just as built & good looking as superman. It's the attitude I guess. Christopher Reeve did this perfectly, I just hate how other Superman writers have taken this idea and essentially parodied it, making him act like a clown dropping things and slipping on banana peels. Reeve's Clark is a little clumsy, but he still feels like a real person. He plays it more like an out of town guy who can't quite adjust to the fast-paced environment of an urban setting. Him missing elevator or getting doors slammed in his face is not an act. Those are things that are actually happening to him out of his control.
