Thank you! I was so incredibly confused on why sugar HAS to be used
@JoesPhenomenal14 күн бұрын
YW. You figure you need water content to make a slushie since it's the water that forms ice crystals. Without anything to keep it from happening, the water will turn solid and the machine can't slush it. The sugar acts in a way to keep the water from being able to freeze completely. Sugar alternatives don't typically act like that, so that's why most won't work. Allulose acts a lot like sugar as far as this goes though, so that's why it can work.

I absolutely LOVE slushies to the point that a couple years ago I would get one every single day until it started to become detrimental to my health with all of that sugar (who didn’t see that coming😅). So, to prioritize my health I had to cut them out of my diet. When this machine came out I immediately thought “AHHH DIET COKE SLUSHIE!!!” Until I saw that Ninja said the liquid needed to have sugar 😔. But, then I saw this video. Thank you so much for providing an alternative and proving them wrong!!! You have created a solution to add a bit of joy back into my diet while still allowing me to stay “on track” with my health.

Where can you buy the artificial sweetener you used?
@JoesPhenomenalАй бұрын
Here goes a link to the allulose I used on Amazon: amzn.to/4ed9YqN
@nottheinternet62762 ай бұрын
9:45 contains 2 artificial sweeteners: yellow sweetener - sucralose (commonly sold under the brand name Splenda) and blue sweetener- acesulfame potassium ( commonly sold under the brand name Sweet One), and no stevia. You might consider experimenting with CMC (Carboxymethyl cellulose), it makes sugar free ice cream work, so it probably works with slushies as well.

Can you explain a little bit more about what is Allulose Sweetener? Are there any downsides to using it? I am a diabetic as well as have a tendency to have GI issues when I use things like Swerve.
@JoesPhenomenal2 ай бұрын
The good thing about allulose is that it crystalized the same way sugar does, so you can use it for slushies like this and it still works. Most sugar substitutes won't do that. On the bad side, like a lot of sugar subs, it can cause stomach issues. I personally have never had any problems with Monk Fruit, or Ethrytol, or Stevia, but the Allulose does definitely put me in the outhouse. Since you have issues with that, if you make s slushi with it, i'd just sample a little tiny bit first and see if it gives you any trouble to be safe.
@SkyMogul2 ай бұрын
@@JoesPhenomenalCame here to say the GI issues with allulose are real for some of us. Would really like to see some experiments mixing zero sugar and sugared sodas to see how low you can get them and still have them slush and taste good. Even cutting the sugar in half would be a huge win!
