Fairly straightforward, thanks for the tips. Hardest part was putting the plastic tray-panel back in on the right. New battery fixed the problem. Oh, it was hard to find the righthand bolts on that tray, because there's a removable liner that hides them. Baffled me for the first 10 minutes.

Very easy battery replacement. Takes about 10 minutes and as stated, a ratchet with a 10mm socket will do the trick. You'll want to call ahead to your local automotive parts shop to see if they have it in stock. In my case, both O'Reilly's and AutoZone only had 1 auxiliary battery in stock, both at the same price. That said, you can actually do the swap in the parking lot in minutes and have the shop take your old battery when done.

@@j.gamble2236 Nope - It’s super easy, I actually swapped mine out in the O’Reilly’s parking lot.

Even easier fix, fiddle with the connectors and then try the car again. Sometimes the battery malfunction disappears. I did this two years ago and it’s been fine since.

Exactly ! how is finding , ordering , and spending at least $150 to buy a new battery , & ultimately replacing it with a new one , an easy fix ❕❔this video just pmo sooo bad ,,,,,, like we all know replacing it will fix the problem duh 😒

do you really need to replace the batt for old mercs , i have a b class w246 , its function is only for start and stop . .which i never use , i havent replaced mine for almost a year and so , still running fine

I’m getting the same message “auxiliary battery malfunction” on my 2013 CLA45 it won’t let me switch from eco mode to sports or manual mode and my parking sensors aren’t working, going to replace the battery tomorrow hopefully that solves the issue

Either the auxiliary or the Esl steering lock which requires an emulator smh 🤦🏿‍♂️ i dont lnow why NhtSB dont recall it

Mine "failed" after a month(brand new battery). I read somewhere that this little voltage converter thingy can cause that error as well.

Possible capacitor issue. I think it's located next to the small battery.
