We all know the Sly Cooper Series has very mysterious characters, lacking background history. Carmelita is no exception, and I was kind of hoping to see more of her in the fourth game. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. There's no solid proof that her ancestors could be related to the Coopers, their parents are absent from the series, and there's a lot more missing here. It was a problem by Sucker Punch, and apparently Sanzaru has the same idea of not giving detailed information about the main characters of the game, and the best example of this is Bentley and Murray. Their past before the orphanage is a HUGE question mark. I hope you guys are with me, and I really would mind a movie or a short film, containing all the events previous to Sly 1 (Sly's parents history, Bentley, Murray and Carmelita background) to explain how all the pieces fit together. And your theory videos VIVI could finally be proven right (or wrong)

While I do wish we could know more about Bentley and Murray’s biological family, and Carmelita’s backstory, I don’t think every character needs a prestigious lineage. It’d kinda conflict with the games “found family” thing with the Cooper gang, and would feel a bit forced if they all had famous lineages. Anyone within the Slyverse has the potential to be great, just because Sly is a cooper, it doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be a master thief if he wasn’t.

"Fourth generation" just means that at least one of her parents, one of her grandparents, and one of her great-grandparents were all cops, whereas none of her great-great-grandparents were (at least not the ones who gave birth to the great-grandparents that were cops). That doesn't mean that she couldn't have also had other ancestors who were cops or detectives, just not going five generations back.

I'm all for fan theories, but only if they make sense. This one is super far fetched. It's not uncommon for decendents of military veterans or police veterans to also pursue that career path either because they feel obligated to, because they want to continue the tradition, or other personal reasons. The idea of Carmelita's ancestor's coming from a long line of law enforcement might make a good fanfiction, but holds no actual ground in the case of Sly Cooper lore.

All we know is that she's the 4th law enforcer in her family, not necessarily chronologically. Could one of them have come into contact with one of Sly's ancestors? I don't see that too far-fetched to be honest. Tenessee himself told Carmelita she reminds him of someone.

Since Carmelita is the 4th generation law enforcer, that means that law enforcement in her family only runs back as far as one of her great-grandparents which would probably be in the latter half of the 1800s. If that's true, your Tennessee theory might actually hold water if her great-grandparent law enforcer was female, but that's as far back as it would go. I always figured the Mona Lita was just a clever play on history. Women didn't serve in law enforcement in that time period, but it is a fictional world. Edit: Forgot to mention the part I found far-fetched was that you said all of Carmelita's other ancestors could have been thieves. I heard it and thought "Whoa, that sounds like wishful thinking." (Didn't get to watch second half of video until just now because irl reasons.)

It could be that throughout time the Coopers and the Foxes were always at each others throats. Playing the game of cops and robbers. But Sly and Carmelita were the first of their generation to actually fall in love with one another. All the previous Coopers probably ended up having a thing for foxes but never actually ended up with anyone from the Fox line until Sly. Edit: also too , Cooper seems to be a full bred Raccoon and Carmelita is a full bred fox. So more than likely their parents were Fox X Fox and Raccoon X Raccoon. I would think the game would mention if either character were a hybrid of two species. Just the trope of this lifelong rivalry since the dawn of time until these two come along and break the cycle I guess.

I imagine these two have a long game of cat and mouse (or I supposed fox and racoon) game that goes unspoken to even the thievous racoones. And perhaps 'Fox' isn't always Carmelita's ancestors last name. For example Tenese's time of Carmelita could be the sheriff before time shifted, but after that the game began for the two. Another is during Rioichi's time his Carmelita is a ninja that duel in the night. And if that's the case then I can only imagine the stuff these two bloodlines can get into. Like Henriette Cooper is battling her time's Carmelita (who I could say is part either the navy or a very persistent coast guard) in the open sees or during Otto Van's time his Carmelita are having dog fights in the air

The painting Mona Lita was made by a forger and was arrested by a detective, this means its very likely this is a modern piece made to look old and Carmelita was the actual subject. The word detective has only been around since 1840's meanwhile the Mona Lisa was made in 1503. :3 Also 4 generations of police doesn't mean they're weren't any before it just means a continuous line. That said I think Tennessee did know one of her ancestors as a friend.

Hey buddy I have an idea, did you notice how in sly 4 during the mission where you break sly and the others out of jail , where Kid cooper starts to say to Carmelita " You remind me of this one gal..." but he was cut off by Carmelita. Maybe he was referring to one of Carmelita's ancestors in that time. That may even trigger the question that maybe there are one of Carmelita's ancestors in Egypt trying to help him get home. I did go over Tenesse mentioning 'gal'. It could perhaps have been her ancestor yeah! Carmelita's ancestor in Ancient Egypt sounds pretty interesting, she could have been a friend of Slytunkhamen's. Plus, not all her ancestors were cops/officers. Oh, and thanks!

Few things: 1. If Sly and Carmelita come from the same family wouldn't they be some weird Raccoon/Fox hybrid animals 2. If the "Mona Lita" was painted by Dimitri's ancestor can we presume that some form of Leonardo Da Vinci or another Renaissance painter is related to him 3. Did anybody notice that in Sly 1 after you beat the Panda King the newspaper says Dude! That's Kickass in the upper left corner. Isn't this an E-rated game or is that actually allowed

Not all interspecies relationships result in hybrids. In fact, most authors writing about them would have the child take on one of the parents' species.

1. A raccoon and fox might form a hybrid. But, like JamesDavy2009 mentioned, I think the child will take on one of the parents species. Kevin Miller thinks the same in one of his old videos. For example, the son might turn out to be a raccoon and the girl might turn out to be a fox. 2. Since Rioichi Cooper is the inventor of sushi, it wouldn't be crazy to think that Dimitri's ancestor is related to Da Vinci. 3. In the Sly comic, Carmelita calls Sly a smart ass at one point. I think having ass in a word is allowed I guess.
