Hey Art! Allied actually has a great tip for buffing - in response to when you said you don't like taking off too much lacquer. Allied has in the catalog to mask the area off with Masking tape or painter's tape. Then the buffing wheel takes off only what is exposed outside of the tape and it's super easy to peel off once you're done buffing

Great tip Ian.

I’ve found the blue painter’s tape works better. If I’m aggressively buffing and use regular masking tape it seems to heat the tape and leaves a bit of residue from the glue on the horn. I’ve not had this issue with the blue tape.

I dented my trumpet on the just after the keys near the bell side its not a big dent but how do i get it out. With the dent rods? thanks for the video. How did i tent my trumpet i caught it on the edge of the table in my practise.

Yes, I would get a dent like that out by using a tapered mandrel dent rod.

Could you add the link for the trumpet leadpipe mandrel you used on this video?

Do you have different buffing wheels for the different compounds? If not there must be residue from the abrasive compound when you apply the fine stuff?
