I'm in the process of cleaning my own depression hoard. I'm doing it all though...deep cleaning, organizing, purging. Somedays it's overwhelming and I start to fall back to self-sabotaging behaviours. Your video is helpful in motivating me to tackle the projects (so many), but I'm off to clean out my fridge and a couple cupboards. Thank you for making videos, you are appreciated. Sending support, love, and kindness from Lexington, MI.

You’re putting in the work and that is amazing!! You should be proud! I know how you feel and I’ve been there. I try to stay on top of things but when I start to feel down, everything piles up again. Its a constant up & down battle. I get very depressed when I am pregnant and I feel like I am still picking up the pieces from that and my son is now 9 months old. Thank you for watching my videos and supporting my channel, I’m so happy I can help motivate you and brighten your day even just a little bit

There really is a significant difference between the bins you obtained from Home Goods and the Home Edit bins. It is the same problem I have with many of the bins from DollarTree.. Tapering. The bins from Home Goods and DollarTree tend to be tapered from top to bottom, where the Home Edit ones are not. The difference is how efficiently the space is used. Though the bins work better than just the packaging pantry food comes in, I just find wasted space, even small as it may be with the tapering, to be very frustrating. The Home Edit bins are horribly expensive from The Container Store, but there are some now available at Wal-mart with the same quality, just more affordable.

My mom used to say, “Everything has a place, everything in its place.” I think this is essential when you have small spaces. The second thing is maintenance. Take an extra few minutes to put things in their place and it really helps in the long run.

Guilty as charged - I too want to declutter my junk drawer and one thing I did was to move it out of the kitchen - I moved it to a drawer closer to the garage - and I do periodically go thru it and ask " what is this and does it need to be in here " often NO is the answer and what the heck is it :) - glenda

I have a large drawer like yours. I use it for cutlery and my steak knives. Got the coolest bamboo organizer that slides out for the cutlery and 2 steak knife holders. Works great and I don't have to worry about a gigantic junk drawer. I used dollar store bins in my small junk drawer with power cables, sharpie markers, taper measures and stuff I really use. Thanks for sharing

Adhesive sticker tip: Most adhesives are oil-based. When oil dehydrates, it becomes a sticky gum, which is why it's so useful. Being oil-based, there are two ways to handle their removal: 1. Heat softens the oil. Whether you use a blow dryer or you set the item in hot water, the heat softens the adhesive, making it less tacky/sticky and making removal pretty easy. With a blow dryer, you can peel the dry paper sticker off; any label bits or adhesive left behind can be pried loose by laying the sticker back on the offending residue to restick, then yank the sticker back up; the residue should come back up with the sticker. 2. Adding less-dense oil 'moistens' or even dissolves the adhesive, which makes removal easier This is especially useful when you've pulled off the sticker, but there's adhesive residue left behind. Just pour some cooking oil on the area, rub it in, give it a few minutes, then rub until the adhesive has dissolved. Then apply dish detergent full strength and wash the oil off. Finally, DO NOT USE A SOLVENT, like rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover. It doesn't work well (if at all) and can damage the item under the sticker.

I think those bins are great for pouch items are even granola bars things like that but not for the spaghetti sauce I think the spaghetti sauce should go on the shelf by itself and not in a band but if it works for you, plus I use mason jars for a lot of the pasta things sugar rise. Things like that bins for me is only small package items or in the Refridge for veggies.

I have never understood the need to take up real estate space in a kitchen with a "junk" drawer??? I have never had one and dont plan on ever having one, I put stuff where it goes...pens/pencils/whiteout/tape...etc etc go in my desk, flashlights and batteries in the utility room, I dont use a cell phone etc so no charging cables all over....just put it where it goes, not in the junk drawer.
