Small Monkey Keeps Asking Silverback Gorilla For Help

Silverback Awali is lounging in the background while the mischievous Mangabey monkey Litchee finds herself in a sticky situation. Playing with a hessian sack, she manages to entangle herself in it, giving her a hilarious hip accessory. Despite her best efforts to shake it off by darting around, she keeps returning to the stoic silverback for assistance. With each attempt, it's as if she's pleading, "Come on, big guy, lend a hand... or finger!" But Awali remains unmoved, observing the spectacle. One of the blackbacks comes to have a look when the Mangabey tries to get the cloth off. Litchee stands up in front of the silverback, she really wants some help from the big guy. When the silverback puts his finger out towards her, the mangabey positions herself and shows him the hessian sack again, but no, the silverback doesn't move a muscle. When Litchee sits down in front of him again, it must have loosened and it came off on its own. Litchee hides behind the silverback as the two blackbacks approach, as they haven't been very nice to her, but more about that soon.

AWWW, sad for the Monkey. I'm so glad it fell off, and didn't get even tighter on their belly. Awali probably thought the Monkey was playing and wanted him to join in ..? Like my cat used to do with shopping bags 😅. But seriously, this is why chimp sanctuaries have to examine all enrichment carefully, ecause if it had been her neck and not her waist....I believe they have lost chimps to that

The keeper was there in the windowed backroom and walking passed the gated door a few times and could see. It only lasted a couple of minutes and all was sorted out by itself.
