Small Space? No Problem! Planting Compact Hydrangeas: PW Tiny Quick Fire & Fire Light Tidbit

I planted 2 new compact panicle hydrangeas in my garden. Panicle hydrangeas are more sun tolerant than the mop head or bigleaf (Macrophylla) type hydrangeas. So if you are short on space, and want a hydrangea with beautiful blooms that can tolerate sun, check these out! I'm certain that even if you have a jam packed garden, or a small garden, you can carve out a space to fit one of these beautiful and compact hydrangeas. The Proven Winners Tiny Quick Fire, and Fire Light Tidbit Panicle Hydrangeas are proof that good things DO come in small packages! Thanks for watching- Steph 🌱 (Gardening in Massachusetts zone 6b). #gardening #planting #landscape #design #plants @pwcolorchoice @ProvenWinnersKZbin @Coastofmaine

My Little Lime Punch Hydrangeas were my favorite, but the Firelight Tidbits I planted two years ago might be close! They looked so perfect this year, and totally covered with blooms. I think I need to try out the Tiny Quick Fire too 😆 I ordered my Tidbits from Proven Winners online, and I was really happy with how healthy and big they were.

I hope to find the tiny versions next year. The nurseries around me did not carry them or else they were sold out. It is funny because I just finished purchasing little lime punch and found echinacea called “coral craze “ , a nativar whose colour brings out the colour as the PW Little Lime Punch is changing . 🥰🌸🇨🇦

So beautiful, and I have always loved Hydrangeas. Growing up my mom had so many, and all different colors, they where stunning. There was one that she grew which was a climbing hydrangea and she had that trail up on an everygreen tree. It was beautiful. I am on the lookout for hydrangeas and hardy hibiscus everytime I go to the stores. Thank you for sharing.

I love these new small hydrangeas. I just bought 2 new Little Quick Fires. Have you ever seen the Puffer Fish panicle hydrangea by Proven Winners? It's also small and has big white puffy plums that almost covers the whole plant. I can't find anyone local who has them so I may order from Great Garden Plants. I've never ordered plants online before so thanks for showing how they are shipped. It looks like they do a great job with packaging.

Steph, love your haircut! You’ve garden is looking so spectacular! I love those echinacea with the hydrangeas! I have not had much luck with echinaceas! I need to go get some and plant them in my garden at the end of this season! I have a question…. have you ever wondered when you get “new”bad bugs in your garden WHERE did they just pop in from?! This year I had a lot of stink bugs in my garden ( like 5 varieties)! Also,I noticed an earwig seemed to APPEAR as I was emptying a bag of hardwood mulch ! You should do a segment WHAT were your worse bug problem this summer and HOW did you get rid of them! We would surely be prepared for next year!🙌🏼

@HookedandRooted
@HookedandRooted 25 күн бұрын
Hi Monica! I would say if you have a shady spot that gets at least some sun, you could try something that is hardy to a zone 8. See how it goes. Many times plants can adapt, especially if they are somewhat sheltered, or in a micro climate, and get adequate water. I have bobo hydrangeas that I think would benefit from some afternoon shade. I also used to have the wee white hydrangeas in my garden, that is now doing great at a friends house in her part shade garden. Hope this helps, and thank you so much for watching 🌱
