hello! was it tough to assemble the bed frame? did they provide any videos/guide on how to assemble?

@@JL-pf6uw if you have experience assembling a bedframe then should be fine. Its typically headboard 1 piece, then joint it with the other 3 sides, then lastly put your main base support. Recommend at least 2 people for queen/king size.

I don’t think this should be considered a smart home. Your house though, is marvelous and beautiful. However its just littered with many technological products that’re not really linked with each other. It’s a high tech home, but far from a smart home. I’m sure many smart home enthusiasts will agree, that the basis of a smart home is to set complex automation such that most electronic devices are linked with each other and functions seamlessly. Nevertheless, good job on the renovations though, it’s amazing what you’ve done for a HDB house. Beautiful!

yes I agree that true smart home is to have as many devices and appliances connected on a single platform, but if by this standard then most of the 'smart' home videos in youtube and especially from Singapore are not actually smart. Every smart home provider companies are building their own ecosystem and most don't integrate with each another. For my case, I am not sure whether I will like the smart home idea concept, so I decided to go with the xiaomi ecosystem, which I consider to be an entry level, cheap n good, easy for any household to get started with some basic automation. I will probably do another video to talk about this topic and maybe showcase more of the xiaomi ecosystem. Anyways, thanks for the comment and phrase!

@@AlexTeo You’re not wrong. Most smart home product companies have their own apps. However you can definitely find a central app to integrate them all. HomeKit, Alexa and Google Home is few common ones. I’ve more than 15 smart home apps on my phone, but I seldom use them. I frequent only 1 app every time, the HomeKit app. With enough research, you’ll realize you can control all you existing smart home products in ur home with HomeKit, through the use of Homebridge or native HomeKit integration. The same can be done with Alexa system or Google Home or Xiaomi. More advanced routines and automations can be built upon as well. Tbh, those KZbin videos showing a smart home without much integration between devices are not considered smart home videos. They’re just showing cool gadgets around. I suggest you set higher standards for what a smart home should be :) Its definitely not wrong of a starting point to purchase many cool tech products to put in your house. But at the end of the day, the definition of a smart home should be an interconnected system that truly brings convenience to your life. Tbh If your devices are not compatible with each other, you’ve made the wrong choice of purchase. I understand many self proclaimed Singapore smart homes are not truly smart. But why set your standard the same as theirs? You’re an awesome KZbin that built such a perfect home. Aesthetically it’s amazing. Might as well make it a truly amazing smart home system as well haha

At the same time, I think I didn’t do myself justice in this video and showing everything I have put in place. My husband and I have been wondering whether to get a fridge with an ice+water dispenser or a stand-alone hot+cold water dispenser. Noticed that you got both! Was just wondering if both of your dispensers are fully utilized? (i.e. we worry that if we purchase both, one will be underutilized). Or did you purchase both because one is mainly for ice cubes and the other primarily for hot water?

My dude, you're missing the most basic object in a smart home, no Google Home/Alexa :P Google just came out with their new Google Nest Audio if you're interested. By the way, if you're in the market for lights, look out for LiFX bulbs. The best in the market for sure. I see that you are a big Xiaomi fan, so you can go for the Yeelight series by them if you find LiFX too expensive. I'm also assuming you already have a doorbell camera, otherwise I recommend the Yale DDV3. Cheers.

using Ring doorbell camera already. Nah, I disagree that using voice = smart home. I'm just not fond of using voice commands, prefer to control via app, using sensors, set automation rules all these. I trying to find a place to put Yeelight too haha. Thanks for the suggestions!
