I doubt very much if this provides the kind of protection you'd get out of suitably sized aluminium or steel but it probably would be great for most people and doesn't weigh as much. As a drawback it would make inspection and maintenance a pain as you probably can't cut an inspection hole or access for drain plugs without compromising the plastic.

Pat, don’t forget to look after your own body armor. A GVM upgrade is more expensive than looking after the front bumper!
