Best tutorial I found among so many....THANK YOU !... My iPhone 5 was not working and I found out the tiny wire going around the audio jack was broken. I fixed it following your detailed instructions and took the opportunity to replace the battery. I lost 2 of the tiny washers, but they do not seem to affect functionality.

Yeah unless for some reason something wasn't connected properly as it was reassembled.. I would check your connections and make sure they are good. Otherwise maybe it's the charger.. Even if it's the battery it should turn on with it plugged in.

very helpfull, cost me 10 bucks to repair it myself, i had a hard time removing the 2 last bottom screws where the charging port is located, they both never came out they were kind of weld there, i ended up prying the iphone to just break them up so i didnt put any screw back there, beside that everything went fine. After all it now work again thank you! keep it up with the good videos

very good tutorial. i was able to fix it allmost in real time with the video . tip : use a small neodimium magnets to kip all the screws from getting lost . you can also attach 1 to the philips driver for ease of screw extraction 2 : the 4 small rings/shims under the charge port are very fine like a sticker so don't loose them .

Hello, really good demo for repair. However just FYI, Torx and Pentalobe are not the same tool. Torx is a six sided tip and Pentalobe is a five sided tip. But most iPhone parts shipped now days come with an optional mini tool set. Thanks again.

I want to thank you so much because your tutorial helped me fix my iphone by myself. Yes I did spend a little bit extra cash more than the service cost by a local vendor, but it was a fulfilling experience. I have 2 points to make. 1. Aligning the new charging port is quite difficult. Therefore connect your charging port to the charging cable to get it perfectly aligned in a easier fashion. 2. Similarly you can do the same for the headphone jack sectioon also. Thank you once again for the amazing step by step explanation :-D

Guys I used the suction cup to hold up the screen. You can find anything to hold it up the screen without obstructing your view from working on your phone. This cut some time off when replacing your charging port. Thanks for this video bro for a guidance.

Yes if you want you can lean it up against a book or something too while its up at just past a 90 degrees but you have to be careful not to pull to hard on the cables. Good job thanks!

After changing this port, the home button will not work now. I checked for loose connections and cleaned some connections, nothing seemed to work. It was working correctly before changing the port. Everything is where it needs to be. Any ideas on what could have went wrong.

It may be a faulty battery. What you could do is just open the screen with leaving the screen attached set the Old battery on top of the new battery and just plug it in and see if the phone will turn on properly.

My journey...Dropped my s5, smashed the glass, went to get it replaced, at the lift I held my sons iphone 5 so he didnt lose it, I drop it and shatter the front. Thought I would save some dollars so I source a digitizer online. I put it on ok (v hard with non magnetic screwdriver lol). Then I put it back together, home button doesn't work. Checked it all out carefully, don't know whats wrong so I take it to the place I got my s5 glass fixed. He cant fix the home button. So I take it home and we use assitive touch whatever its called. Then ten minutes later it won't charge at all. So I order a charger port off ebay, follow this video, I do it perfectly. Still nothing, all dead, and my s5 cracked again when I slightly pressed the glass in. Life sucks when this happens, so will have to chuck the ip5 and get him a new one! Nice video, I enjoyed doing the work, but sad no work!!!

hallo, i made the way that you said, unfortunatly the phone is not charging, it means i dont know where is the problem, i really need my data from my phone, if you could help me i will appreciate, thnaks alot .

I would check all your connections and make sure they are connected properly.

One of the ridiculously tiny screws near the bottom of the phone, pretty much right next to the charging port got stripped and I'm having a really rough time taking it out. Does anyone have some suggestions?

Maybe try a small flat that just fits in the stripped out slots if you can.

The smallest flat head I have is one that comes from those repair kits you can buy off of amazon.

Yo man, I lost 2 of those little washers before I realised they were there :( Now my phone doesn't turn on at all or respond to charging. Would it be due to this or some other mistake? Cheers :)

I don't think that would make so it doesn't work. It sounds like maybe some connectors didn't get quite reconnected properly or something. If you take everything apart that you had and carefully put it back together it should work. Hopefully that works. Thanks.
