Jimmy was born in 64 so he's a late boomer. Corgan was born in 67. James and Darcy were born in 68 which makes them Gen X.
@HockeyNationHD
@HockeyNationHD 2 жыл бұрын
@@rushshukla4636 You think being born 3-4 years apart can put people in distinctly different generations? That isn't how that works. Jimmy Chamberlain would have been 18 in 1982. D'arcy in 1986. That's the same generation. Jimmy isn't in the same generation as an actual boomer, born in, say, 1950, or 1954. When you come of age is the most important part of which generation you belong to.

I saw them twice about a year later, and he was actually real douchey. One gig, he refused to sing several of the songs for whatever reason, leaving the band to play instrumental versions. Same gig, he made fun of audience members for various reasons. I remember he made fun of some kid crowd surfing wearing a RATM shirt. Like why? That kid paid to see you and you’re making fun of him. @@marvin-wj9kl The way I understand it as a newer fan is that Billy had high standards that he didn’t feel the rest of his band lived up to. Kind of a perfectionist. Does that make him an asshole? Ugh. Snotty little Billy when the interviewer asks them if they’re looking forward to seeing any of the other bands, on a bill with a number of bands playing to raise money for charity, in the spirit of unity and rock-and-roll fun, Billy starts to shake his head and say, “No”… until James and Jimmy very clearly say “We wanna see NIRVANA…” then Billy, still snotty, chimes in “Neervana and Bullet Lavolta”. Mind you, Billy was well aware of Nirvana and has since said he was respectfully competitive with Kurt and here you can see Billy’s ego like “F all these other bands. I’m great!” Which is really the attitude that just kinda made him less cool than he could’ve been (classic take on Billy and it was true. He’s just a classic example of a dick). The other 3 were actually the cool ones. lol. You could see in that moment when James and Jimmy were immediately like, “we actually wanna check out this rad OTHER band” the way they said “Nirvana”, Billy felt that energy. That other band.
@freeecountryy

One of the few shows the Pumpkins ever played with Nirvana. As I'm writing this I look above and see that the description already says what I'm currently writing, but fuck it... I'm going to continue. The bands got together on stage to play Twister, and Krist Novoselic got down to his underwear and greased himself with Crisco for the advantage. After the game was finished, he grabbed an American flag randomly from the stage and wiped himself off with it, including an exaggerated wipe of his butt, which infuriated a few Boston townies in the crowd. They had to hide out and get security to escort them out of the club afterwards. Billy and Kurt (who was about to get uber famous in a couple months from this video,) had the Courtney Love connection, and never became friendly unfortunately. Very different people anyways. Okay, I'm rambling now. Later
