I mean the whole video was caused because Peach didn't want her castle to be blown up. Knowing Zero was planning this from the beginning when it moved its guardian pod to her castle. It then meant it knew that it would cause the SMG4 crew to fight amongst themselves while using the possessed Axol to then bring Mario to it. In a world filled with half-insane people like the SMG4 main cast, Zero must be very clever.

I've noticed that both times SMG0 had an avatar in his clutches, the other SMGs of that universe were nearby, and he did not start corrupting Mario in the 10 Year Anniversary Special until Zero had both SMGs captive.
