Alex Nemirow I celebrated 15 years in November 2018. This song was released in March 2003. That means I was still out there getting high and drunk when this song came out. So, I can relate... What I can tell you is, keep on keeping on. Admit to God that you have a problem that you can’t deal with on your own, and that you need His help with it. He will help you. Take things one day...or one meeting...at a time. Change the people you hang out with, the places you go, and the things you used to do. Start a new, fresh lifestyle with new hobbies. Exercise daily or at least every other day. Personally, I run, ride bicycles, and also do push-ups, pull-ups and sit-ups, etc. Avoid the things that trigger the urge to drink/use. Best of luck and God bless.

I grew up in small town USA. Mostly highschool football and beer bongs was what my peers and I looked forward to on the weekends. One night at one of your typical house parties this song played, and weather jock, goth, or nerd it seemed as if we all understood what one another was going through, i don't know how else to describe it other then some type of group empathy. No matter how old I get, this song always brings me back to that moment, and I tear up. I don't know what I'm talking about, no one will read this, and I'm drunk. But you..... hey you..... remember that life is beautiful and every day is a fleeting moment, So be thankful for the time you have and the people in your proximity. I love you all. My wife left me today. Fucked 3 years of sobriety up right after. I'm sure I'll lose everything else in time as well. For now, I'll sit here and drift in and out til the end.

It may seem cliche, and honestly it is, but you'll get through all the sad and hopelessness, towards the end of my severe alcohol addiction, my entire life completely fell apart, and blamed myself for all the horrifying and extremely tragic events in my life, occasionally i still do, i ended up in the clink (county jail) for 7 months on huber, which still alotted time to think about my failures as a husband, father, and definitely as a born again Christian, and i knew i had/and wanted to change the way i was living my life, 5-18-2019 until this very day i've been sober, is everything perfect now? No, not really, but it is alot easier living now, than 3 years ago, most alcoholics relapse at some point in time, but an amazing large amount of them get back up and start the days and years checkpoints over again, so hang in there my friend :)

I do it for the drugs. I do it just to feel alive. I do it for the love. That I get from the bottom of the bottle. 🖤🖤🖤💔
