I have the KSG 12 as well; I would need to see how the disassembly process is to see if it's actually better because the KSG doesn't require no tools and doesn't have small parts.

You said one key thing with any pump shotgun which is to run the action hard. You're not going to break a gun-running the action firm, The same applies to running slides on handguns that are semiautomatic.

I think I like the DB12 more. Two barrels, two tubes - One pump, two shots. That would be difficult getting used to but certainly doable. Good review!

@@TheCommonPatriot Not sure you shoot it yet, but I've seen it in comparison videos. One trigger pull, left barrel fires, next trigger pull, right barrel fires. Pump and start again.

I sold my M&P12 for the DP 12. Big regret! The DP 12 weighs a ton and a lot of malfunctions. I switched back to the M&P12 which feels like a feather. Plus I can load up to 22 mini shells! The DP 12 would malfunction with the mini's.

Hi sir do you know what is screw torque for the front right under picatinny rail body you can see two button hex screw torque? Mine was finger loose and there was no even bluelock tight on it on screws. How's yours sir? Thank you

You a skillful trap shooter. That M&P 12 looks very close to a KSG. Loved your video on the operation of an M&P12, and it definitely looks like a customer feedback evolution of the KSG -as in S&W listened to our community's gripes and complaints and tried to address them. The stroke is still as unforgiving, but the loading indicator is nice, and especially wonderful is the magazine switch actually being where the none-firing hand can manipulate it. The extra pound and a half of mass is probably useful for absorbing some of that recoil, too, and maybe shooters would appreciate the bulkier package that is still close to the industry minimums of 18" barrel and 26" overall length so its agile enough to sling around. I'm a KSG user myself, and I've researched that gun for years before making the purchase. Don't know if I'm lucky that mine runs smooth or if Kel-Tec QA raised their standards, but it may be the only shotgun I'll own in my life. Otherwise, the only issues I've had with it, is you said it, short-stroke/soft-stroke. Once I developed the muscle memory to cleanly, and deliberately rack back, then ram forward swiftly and with feeling, no issues. The magazine-switching thing I talked about that was nice on the M&P12; my solution on the KSG was an extended switch that I'd manipulate with that joint behind my thumb so my firing hand can remain in place. Something I've noticed about bullpup shotguns and how they have a loading bay instead of a loading gate: flip the gun upside down on the crook of your elbow and along your forearm, creating a linear path you can see into and load from, enabling you to palm and service two shells right behind each other at a time. If in a rush: load only a single tube. It's a fun drill, with a variation being you loaded 3 pairs of shells into that tube, racked a round in, there's an opportunity there now with 5 in the tube to load another pair of shells before returning to firing position. If I need to reload in a hurry while taking game/varmint, something has gone terribly wrong, and I need to go home and fix myself instead. Overall, bullpup shotguns are a real niche. Its a combination of the in-line path of recoil between the shooter and the action. As in, without a robust recoil mechanism, we get all of it; there is no redistribution of it as you would on a conventional shotgun's stock. That, and traditional shooters would like a more comfortable parallax, as in sight height. It might be pricey, but an AA-powered Eotech has been overkill go-to for my bullpup because its rugged, I can recharge the batteries cheaply (and commonly with my other gadgets), and it has a perfect field of view for shotgun work. No risers needed, its perfect for the way I've come to align on the gun. The M&P12 looks like a fun gun, I'll have to see how it feels in my hands at the range or at the store. How easy is it to disassemble and clean? The propriety foregrip looks nice too, and easily addresses the #1 safety concern from the KSG; shooting your own hand off to where I think that it should have been included with every one Kel-Tec sold. My solution was to put a small riser and pistol laser/light combo on the bottom rail to act as a handstop, while I actuated the pump from an angled grip, and I could manipulate the accessory by just nudging my knuckle forwards. These bullpup shotguns are the perfect candidate for those old M16 A2/A4 Carrying Handle/Iron Sight combinations, its why I'm considering the KS7 as a wedding present for my sister, whom I trained to run a KSG just fine. It's not a takedown gun you can take into the Alaskan Wilderness where now your factoring in temperature and moisture, but its not meant to be. Its for my home defense and backyard fun. Its handy enough to keep and deploy from my car. Excellent shooting and a positive attitude: great content man!

A little late to the party but the Smith and Wesson page specifically for this shotgun has a few instructional videos detailing a bunch of stuff including the reloading operation which...is actually a helluva thing in real life. It's every bit as big a pain in the butt as they describe. There just isn't an elegant or efficient way to do it. I regret my purchase of this based on that alone.
