Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm EZ...The Purple People Eater!

After purchasing a Shield EZ 9 in basic black frame, I was looking at this orchid one for my daughter. She's 5'3" and petite. Finally getting her to shoot mine, she operated it easily. I asked her what color she likes... she went for the robin egg blue. The other night she asked me if I had ordered the "blue gun" yet. I said no. 10 minutes later, it's ordered on the way to my FFL. I can't wait. I told her that Marvel's Black Widow is her size and can falsely take down 200 lb. men by hand. In the real world... I'm all for women being able to protect themselves with the great equalizer- a Shield EZ fits the bill. Thanks for the great video.

With a 2lb trigger its a wonder why they put that grip safety on there, especially when u have lots of women, beginners and old arthritic folks buying those guns. Yeah, The Performance Center versions have a more extended grip safety that is much easier to disengage without really thinking about it.

Nice one. My wife came close to picking that as her first pistol, but opted for a Smith and Wesson air weight 38 as her first one. She may graduate to one of those by next Christmas.

These guns are super nice. I can't get over how they're able to make the slide so ridiculously easy to rack and still have some of the softest recoil I've ever felt on a 9mm.

Got the same one for my wife and she said that it’s one of the easiest functioning pistols she has ever fired and it’s a good weight for her to carry.

That’s another gun I don’t have. I wonder if s&w might come out with a 13 round version. Purple is my favorite color. Never knew the trigger pull was so light. That was a good demonstration

I bought the S&W EZ 2.0 9mm and I love it. I don’t have a problem racking other gun slides but I just like trigger pull and it just fit my hand perfect

My wife wanted the ez380 nut changed her mind (go figure) to the ez9. The Rural King had 2 blk & 2 orchid 9's & cpl of 380 available

Has the color stayed nice? Guy at shop was telling me he’d get the black and get cerokite on slide because it’d start looking dirty. I like the way this one looks though. And I’ve shot the ez and like it

A difficult time pulling the slide back on this EZ model? My wife has a very hard time on all of my other pistols but this one she can manage pretty easily. If She's having a hard time with this one, try having her hold it close to her body and grab the slide with her other hand like normal but try getting her to push the gun forward instead of pulling the slide back. A lot of times that gives way more leverage than trying to hold the gun out in the air and pull back the slide.👍

@@CHARGER08RT Oh ok gotcha. I can almost guarantee you she wont have an issue with this slide. My wife has an incredibly hard time with any other gun she's ever tried to rack, but she can manage this one. There's nothing wrong with a good revolver but I definitely prefer an auto-fed pistol. If there's somewhere that has this gun in stock, y'all should go and have her try it. It's hard to describe just how easy this slide is to rack.

Tools....if the EZ slide is so much easier than a regular slide/action, why not just go with an EZ type slide on all guns? What's the downside to have a slide/action with less resistance than "normal"? Is there any inherent significant issues with a slide that has less resistance? Is it any less safe? I understand why you want maybe a heavier trigger (especially revolvers) for safety reasons, but why not just make the majority of slides with less resistance if you can?

Good question. Smith and Wesson definitely figured out a magic combo with the EZ's. I guess some guns just need the heavier spring to cycle properly without spending a bunch of R&D money to figure out ways to lighten it.🤷‍♂️

One drawback of the soft slide spring is that the Shield EZ 9mm doesn’t shoot steel (Monarch) ammo well; i.e. the slide won’t fully return to battery.

And of course I got the kp 12 bull pup semi 12 gauge from . black aces sweet 12 gauge . But can not shoot it because I am getting over colon cancer I had removed on March 11th . Then back into the hospital to do a reverse on my colonscopy bag . So no shooting till the end of June ... 👎🏻😩
