🙏🙏🙏Kansas here. We stayed up all night to follow fence line across the road from our farm. Fence posts sparked all night and we would jump and extinguish. Wort night of our life. We were in horrible drought and volunteer fire fighters were stretched.

This is an prairie fire it burns hot and with the high winds moves fast. It has burned over 500 square miles. My grandmother during the last really bad prairie fire over 90 years ago barely escaped the fire in a covered wagon. Burned up whole communities that never rebuilt and burned metal melted rocks exploded and the fire burned 8 feet deep into the ground. So there wasn't even basements left and all the coffins buried in the graveyards burned in the ground and even the granite grave stones where destroyed.

That Paradise, CA fire video of the people driving through flames was so scary. This fire is a lot bigger. Hope no ones has to experience that again.

There didn't need to be a "controlled" burn. They need city ordinances that pastures within 2 miles of subdivisions must be kept grazed out or mowed down to 4 inches by time of 1st hard freeze. I'm surrounded by about 50 acres of grass that's no longer grazed down. It's nerve wracking on these windy days in the Panhandle.

@greyfox79007 I'm getting a constant flow of direct text messages from one of the Mayors in the region that I will not mention by name. She's reporting multiple people dead, all due to lack of information. These fires have been spreading for over 24 hours, and many are being left in the dark without information. It's flat-out not right. She's trying her best, but she cannot do it all. A Mayor that's paid $40 per month should not have to put herself in danger to personally knock on 20,000 doors! Where in the hell is the media!? Where are the State & National Guard?! Where is Greg Abbott?

@@Jewels0007 But there is no local reporting. The media outlets are not talking. These videos create no sense of urgency. These communities need to be made aware of what's happening around them. This is just Maui all over in Texas.
