Overall, Jay Cutler had an OK career and was a competent middle of the pack QB for most of his time in the NFL when compared to his peers during the season that he played. His frequently laid back attitude and his general indifference to the media and most fans made him much more criticized and disliked than he otherwise would have been, even despite only playing in two playoff games. Since his retirement, his confident "I do not care what anyone else thinks" style and attitude and dry wit, which is a revelation to most, has made him much more popular than he ever was as a player.

His dumbass just stayed back there where he released the ball, while everyone else rushed the guy with the ball and started a pile. If you look at Jay's numbers before and after Chicago, and Kyle Orton's numbers in Denver, it kind of proves that QB wasn't the problem in Chicago. I think Jay was objectively a better QB than Orton (I think Orton was a smarter QB though) but Kyle showed he was alot better than he got credit for with the Bears. But I agree, Jay probably is the best Bears QB of all time. Just a shame they never got him an O line

He was thinking, “damn it! Another 7 step drop and I will be sacked by the 3rd step. If I audible to a run play, it will be asinine, if I don’t audible, then I would have held onto the ball for to long.”
