Overall, Jay Cutler had an OK career and was a competent middle of the pack QB for most of his time in the NFL when compared to his peers during the season that he played. His frequently laid back attitude and his general indifference to the media and most fans made him much more criticized and disliked than he otherwise would have been, even despite only playing in two playoff games. Since his retirement, his confident "I do not care what anyone else thinks" style and attitude and dry wit, which is a revelation to most, has made him much more popular than he ever was as a player.

@@steverogers2603 I saw it live. I threw my paper towel at the TV when I saw him just standing on the replay. There was another play I remember in another game. Dolphins were like 10 yards outside the endzone, heading to the opposite endzone after a kickoff. Cutler's pass was deflected, and the ball went straight up into the air, and it got intercepted right there in his vicinity by line of scrimmage. His dumbass just stayed back there where he released the ball, while everyone else rushed the guy with the ball and started a pile. Even your worst quarterback would've gone into the pile at that moment to try to defend. Especially because of the field position for the other team on that turnover. I believe the other team scored after turnover.

Yes. I remember Terry Bradshaw going off on why he didn’t like him one time. He was saying, it’s a beautiful day, you’re playing your favorite sport, your there with your boys at your side, can’t you even enjoy it a little?’ Not to mention he really was paid an obscene amount of money. Something like 100 million that last few years with the Bears.

I mean all jokes aside what’s really insane , is that Jay Cutler was probably the best QB Chicagos ever had in their 100+ year history lmao that’s wild. It’s just weird how things like that happen. Kinda how Minnesota, Detroit , and Chicago had Top 10 all time RBs , and Green Bay passed on Barry in the draft and took Tony Mandarich instead smh. Also passed on Jim Brown , twice … Just funny , we got QBs , they had RBs , just the way it goes sometimes
@steverogers2603

Yes he would throw it right between the numbers on the Packer’s chest, frequently! It was almost like he saw green and yellow as orange and blue. The Packer’s DB’s would always say say, “ same old Jay,” you just need to wait and he’ll get the ball to you.

If you look at Jay's numbers before and after Chicago, and Kyle Orton's numbers in Denver, it kind of proves that QB wasn't the problem in Chicago. I think Jay was objectively a better QB than Orton (I think Orton was a smarter QB though) but Kyle showed he was alot better than he got credit for with the Bears. But I agree, Jay probably is the best Bears QB of all time. Just a shame they never got him an O line
