@CreoleLadyBug5 жыл бұрын
+Smokin' & Grillin' wit AB ~ Peas for the presentation. You’ll have 3 colors. Plus the peas pair well with the grits. Grits are made of ground corn kernels. We don’t need two corns. Y’all don’t know nothing about Southern food in California. All we use is salt and pepper and butter here because that’s all we had. Grits don’t need all that. Grits is like some good old fashioned loving. They don’t need all that extra❣️

I found a 5-pound bag of grits for under $5 at the local grocer. Inflation has been hitting hard, so 60 servings for under 10 cents seemed like a bargain. My mother made grits for breakfast and dinner, so I remember that they can be creamy, sweet, or savory. Mom passed in April this year (at 94 Bless her) and I had lost how to make these raw grits until I found your video. Thank you so much.

What is Creole seasoning made up with? Is it spicy or mild. What's the taste similar too? I use lots of different spices but never tried the Creole yet. Thanks.
@lindaparker61025 жыл бұрын
Creole seasoning is a mixture of many things ! Here are some examples Tony Chaucer’s ,Slap ya momma ! For clarity: Both Creole and Cajun cooking terms are used interchangeably. However , Cajun seasoning is a basic blend mix : use garlic powder, onion, black pepper, and Cayenne pepper, !! Another is the “Trinity” from NEW olrleans, LA. The holy trinity, Cajun holy trinity, or holy trinity of Cajun cooking consists of onions, bell peppers and celery, the base for much of the cooking in the regional cuisines of Louisiana. ... The addition of garlic to the holy trinity is sometimes referred to as adding "the pope." The above are “Keys” to Creole Cajun Cusine, measured in correct Amts. Taking back , We Cajun Cooks , measure nothing. !☺️ I hope this helps, try these spices in smothered pork chops, smothered chicken , Red beasts & Rice !! You will love it !!
@ellamone99985 жыл бұрын
Thanks, nice detailed info on Creole & Cajun spices. I just need to add the celery salt to the mix. LOL at the Holy Trinity and the Pope, 1st time I heard the Pope mixed in a cooking topic. Many thanks Linda :) PS planning on picking up a "Slap Yo Mama" sounds like fun lol.
