Mr. AB, I want to thank you for this tutorial on this amazing pot recipe. My fiancé tried to order some pot roast yesterday from a restaurant and they did not have any. Today I discovered you on KZbin and I took down the ingredients and viewed you teaching as I prepared it. When he got home from work, he said, “ What is smelling so good?” I told him that I made him pot roast because he wanted some on yesterday. He was elated and couldn’t wait to get out of his work clothes so that he could dig into the pot roast. He loved it!!!!! Again, I really want to thank you so very much for your tutorial. Because you really are a teacher, and I would like for you to know that you have a new student. God bless you, your family and your business. Numbers 6:24-26.

This is a winner! I added cumin and celery seed to the roast seasoning. I also added Worcestershire sauce to the beef stock and better than broth enhancer. I also cut up 2 tbsps of butter and dotted it on the top. Lastly I added about a 1.5 tips of pepperocini juice and 2 cut up pepperocini peppers. These ingredients are what I would use for a Mississippi pot roast. Your technique is amazing!

Great recipe. Very similar to how my Mom taught me years ago. They only thing I do differently is that I coat my roast in flour prior to searing it and I use half bullion and half red wine for a little extra flavor.
@MyZ0012 жыл бұрын
sounds good with the red wine. I use it for steak, so Im sure it'll go good with this. What's the reason for coating roast in flour b4 searing it? Ive never heard that before
@cacanjacowans5402 жыл бұрын
@@MyZ001 the flour kinda omits the need for the cornstarch slurry. As the roast cooks up, the flour breading actually thickens up the gravy as it cooks 👍🏾

~~Lookin' damn good. I do crockpot,before I sear the meat which had been dried&salted the day before. I caramelize the carrots&onions in the pan first. After searing&transferring meat I clean the pan out w/a hot cup of the same beef bouillon. Using two cups total mixed,a pack Lipton Onion soup mix,tsp thyme&do celery like you except whole stalk diced which renders down. As it/these are four of the thirteen my gravy consists of along w/all veggies you use +sweet peas as well. ~~Used green beans once which I like but wasn't the same when, personally,I found the sweet peas simply set everything off. The gravy originally used five ingredients w/the celery being happy accident the first time I made it some five years ago. Got to a point about year ago where I felt it complete&won't change a thing now. GOOD COOKING TO YOU SIR!

That looks great. I like to add a versatile vegetable that I feel is often overlooked in the kitchen, especially in conjunction with slow cooked beef: beets. Fresh beets peeled and chopped to the same chunk size as your potatoes and other vegetables adds immense flavor. It also adds a beautiful rich, redness to the broth and gives a good deep sweet balance to the rosemary and tarragon.
