From the bottom of my heart thank you so much for filming this guide. It is very thorough and the fact that you did everything on your hair 😩 oh how I wish other hair styling tutorials also did it this way instead of using a model or using a wig mounted to a mannequin. The hair sectioning is gold! I never imagined it would be that simple.

@MoriahSeabrook
@MoriahSeabrook 6 ай бұрын
Thank you!! I suppose it all depends on your hair type and what you are needing to achieve! A blow dry cream is usually a great product to start with to protect from heat, hydrate and smooth the hair from frizz! But if you lack volume and hold then perhaps a mousse would be more beneficial- although you might not get as much protection from just a mousse! 🫶 hope that was helpful!

I have what feels like a silly question... once you create the perfect blow out, how do you maintain it? I have hair like yours and tend to shower and style at night, but then don't know the best way to sleep on the hair so it looks good the next morning. Also, when there is some frizz the next morning at the roots, what's the best way to smooth them out? I tried used a brush and that ruined the curl and texture. Lastly, any advice for maintaining the style when weather is an issue. It's so hard when I get the perfect blow out, but then have to go walk the dog in the rain or humidity :( What's best, low bun? baseball hat? Top knot? Maybe "blow out maintenance" would make a good video!! Thank you!

I just purchased the Dyson Air dryer and trying to learn how to do a blowout. I have a lot of hair and its long, thick and coarse with some wave to it. Sectioning has always been a problem for me. After watching you, hopefully, I'll be able to. Any suggestions for my type of hair?
@MoriahSeabrook
@MoriahSeabrook Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I would pre section yours more intently than I did in this video. Do the three lower, middle, and top sections right away and then work your way from the bottom up..following what I did with the round brushing technique! Perhaps add more of a smoothing blow dry cream to each section as you pull in down to blow dry it! With course wavy hair, more product can be helpful to smooth and weigh the hair down! The dyson should help immensely in terms of cutting your drying time down with the sectioning! Try that out and let me know how it feels!

hey! do you have any advice for me as every time i try to do a blowout, my hair either doesn’t curl around the brush correctly (my hair is super straight) or the brush gets stuck 💔
@MoriahSeabrook
@MoriahSeabrook 6 ай бұрын
Yes! Perhaps prepping your hair with a light hold gel or mousse and then going in with the round brush when it’s a bit more damp like 75-80% dry instead of 90+%! This way the wet hair is more flexible and the bonds are still broken for you to form your hair around the brush while drying!! Let me know if that helps! 🫶

@MoriahSeabrook
@MoriahSeabrook Жыл бұрын
Hey! Love the questions! You should absolutely be using a blow dry cream or spray with a heat protectant! In this video I prepped my hair with Aveda Smooth Infusion Perfect Blow Dry spray! It has a heat protectant and helps with smoothing frizz. I have fine hair so if yours is more course, then a cream might be best for you! Also, at the beginning of the video I smooth the baby hairs with the blow dryer immediately while wet- this can help you skip using a flat iron around your face! I hope this helps!

I have never seen anyone use the supersonic without a concentrator nozzle.
@MoriahSeabrook
@MoriahSeabrook Жыл бұрын
Totally! I’ve had other people say that too-I’ve found that when rough drying without the nozzle the air is able to cover more hair. It also opens the hair up a bit more to get the excess water out quickly before putting a nozzle on to concentrate the air in order to smooth! It also is going to be concentrating less heat in a small area so can be helpful in preventing unnecessary heat damage! I’ve done it all in and out of the salon and this is just what I’ve found is the most efficient for me!

@MoriahSeabrook

I believe this should be less damaging than using a straightener for most people! It all depends on how much heat and tension you’re putting on the hair- usually most people end up damaging their hair with a flat iron!

@MoriahSeabrook

I would love to incorporate different hair textures on other people in the future of my videos! The reason I’ve been doing tutorials on myself is because I wanted people to be able to see the the placement of my tools and how I’m holding them on myself since y’all are doing it on yourselves at home! I can showcase how I as a professional do techniques on other people but again it’s easier to do someone’s hair when it’s not on your own head and you can freely move your body and arms than when it is on yourself! I want to help you do your own hair at home- instead of learning how to dry on someone else! I do have a video of me doing a blowout on my partners hair- maybe that will be helpful as he has much thicker and a bit coarser hair than me! 🥰
@piapenny
@piapenny 4 ай бұрын
I have coarse hair. I’m a Black woman with type 4 hair and I round brush my hair straight. My technique is different because I do not need volume, it’s built in lol. I watched a KZbinr here named Kelly Wood that does blowouts on ethnic hair and I promise you it gets sleek. It takes a lot of practice but my hair does so much better with blowouts dryer than really high flat iron heat. I think Moriah has a good technique. She helped me be confident with the round brush.
