-Oranges/clementines/mandarins in the toe of your stocking is a pretty common practice. I know people from all over who follow that tradition. -Polar Express is apparently a big age divider. I'm older and agree with Amanda and Shayne, the movie is weird and creepy. I prefer the sleepy, quiet book over the obnoxious movie. -"Hide the pickle" has a very different meaning 364 days of the year. So even though I know what he's talking about, I had to giggle when Shayne asked if anybody plays hide the pickle on Christmas. -Futurama has to fight Robot Santa every year and he's evil.

Well, technically Chanse isn't wrong, because Frozen was loosely based on the original Snow Queen fairytale lol. I had a book of Hans Christian Anderson stories as a kid and when I read The Snow Queen (because I had heard Frozen was nearing the end of production and I wanted to study up lol) I was just like "what is going on?" It's kind of long and complicated for a fairytale. There's all the stuff about the evil mirror, even though that isn't really the focus of the story. You can't really shorten it down like you can with other fairytales. There were a few Snow Queen movies made, though, including an animated adaptation that came out the year before Frozen did. And yet it's still not really a well-known fairytale. I used to read this book series called Whatever After (maybe the author's still writing them, idk) about two kids who get transported into a different fairytale world in each book, and they try to help the main characters of each story get to their ending. And it always plays out a little differently from how you'd expect. Anyway, I was surprised when there was a book where they got transported into The Snow Queen. One of the few times the original story got acknowledged in the media I was consuming lol

lol I’m pretty sure the “ravioli” Angela is remembering is a pierogi. They are basically polish ravioli/dumplings, with filings like potato or cheese, often served with butter and onions. Regarding price of christmas tree's . . . They aren't that expensive. They take anywhere from 4 to 12 years to grow a 6 ft tree (depending on species, weather, etc etc.). Average is like 7 years to grow a tree that is typically picked. Also, if tree farms are doing it right, like 2 or 3 times a year they should be "shaping the trees". Lastly, that land isn't being used for anything else, so the trees alone have to pay for the taxes of the footprint they take up. While agriculture taxes are usually way less than residential areas, we are talking YEARS here. If you dig in AT ALL to what it actually takes, pricing wise live trees aren't that bad.
