Tali Faye, l love okra & tomatoes as much as I love whole fried okra! I had no idea that you had to make a brown roux for it. After watching you, I haven't the slightest idea why my friends made a big to-do about cooking off the okra slime; didn't take you any time. My mom introduced me to fried okra when I was 5 y/o. When she made her seafood gumbo, which did NOT include sausage, she always incorporated lots of okra into the huge pot. So delicious! Btw, that was fresh okra from your garden, wasn't it? Tossing this recipe into my list. Thx for all your time & effort. God bless.

That was our garden okra lol… The roux is what makes this the smothered version instead of just plain okra n tomatoes… which of course we like that too 😊😊

Instead of using oil I cut up about a half a pack of bacon..man ole man talk about more flavor!!
