With the hinge, it is funny how our brain just sees what it expects to see sometimes. On the ship name I was thinking rock, papers, scissors or "Rock Platinum Scissors" mining ship, (RPS)

Plunge Shaft Driller. And add on landing legs/magplates on pistons to connect to the ground in four corners, so that you set down in place, lock in, you're all level, and then take the Plunge. I'd recommend a programmable block to automate landing flat and connecting to the ground properly, and also to automate the full Plunge drilling sequence.

Man, you need to replace the drill row with a row of small containers/conveyors, then drop an advanced rotor in the middle one. and "then" you add a rotating row of drills! Also you can make additional heads, like grinder head or welders heads for tue lulz!

27 small (LG) cargo = 1 large (LG) ... another option until Drill Ship is complete is add merge block and armor blacks (for thruster damage spacing) to previous ship and scissor lift . ....place a platform for drills to set on while emptying (processing)

I am not sure who is more dangerous with piston hinge rotor combos.. Epik or Cosmic? I still remember the massive ship grinder in the Delicious series ( shudders) Your luck with clang is strong Epik One !

For some reason I do seem to have better luck with clang than many others, I'm not sure exactly why.

I really want to see the final form of the ship. 😁👍 Then I will send you a link to the gigantic atmospheric miner I built based on Splitsie's elevator piston design from Survival Maybe series years back. With some tweaks it could be made into a space miner, but just not very practical now with the way ore is. 🤷‍♂

Did that assembler connect the "ship" to the base?

No, since the ship is it's own grid it will only connect to the grid I place it against, in this case the ship. It really looks like it though because of the way I started that grid.
