For the last few months there has been some paranormal activity that has been happening in my home. I regularly smudge our house and my personal things and it really feels light afterwards as if some bad vibes or heavy feelings just magically vanishes. Sometimes I light a candle and burn a little dried sage so that the smoke goes with the candle as it burns. I turn on the lights and fan as I do the smudging.

Thanks for watching Lisa... well, when you burn sage or incense it will produce ashes which may fall... so just be mindful to have a fireproof ashtray as you move about the house so you don't have a hot ash falling on something... Some folks have ceremonial ways of putting out the sage. I don't really have a religious ceremony around it... so I snuff it out in salt or sand. But many feel it's important to let it burn itself out naturally. I don't do that. Hope that helps. ~Susan

I just received my first package of white sage and anxious to get started. I have lived in this house for 15 years. The previous owner was also the builder and lived here for 10 years. There was a major breakup between the husband (infidelity with a young woman, pregnancy then death of the baby) and wife, also a possibility of some criminal action on the part of the husband. I was not aware of any of this when I purchased the house. I have a full basement plus the main floor, the upstairs bedrooms and a partial walk in attic. Do I start in the basement or in the attic? To do each area in the fashion you show is going to take a long time. Does it have to be done in one day? I also have a 5 lb. 14 year old poodle, should I remove her while I am smudging? I thoroughly enjoyed your very informative video.

Hi Carolyn. Thanks for your question. No, you don't have to do it all in one, but that would be the best. I would start at the lowest level and work up. Make sure you have open windows or doors for the release of negativity. In your intentions, 'corral' the energy along the corridors you want them to follow out the window or door. Then smudge the entrance to the rest of the house if you don't finish in one day. Setup a barrier or anything to reenter. Make sure to set the intention, anything negative CAN get out,. just not IN. You can put a bubble of protection around the pups. Watch the bubble video on how-to. When you do finish, light some incense and bring the good woo back into the house!. Hope that helps! Hello dear Susan. Have a silly question can you smudged or sage a picture? Pic of my boyfriend & I. He recently moved to another state we're still together good connection kind of hard for both of us. One experienced we lived before he travels was we went to a park and each of us smudge or clean ourselves from negative energies, we each say individual prayers he uses his and I used my own sage. Love your videos. Im wanting to do this in my home.. But in no way will I be able to do it all in one day! Every wall.. Window.. Mirror.. Cupboard.. Every room... Impossible for me...It would literally take the whole day without interruption to do each opening.. Room.... My question is why is it not recommended to do it in different sections/days? You can do sections or ask for a friend to come help. If you do sections.... create an energetic barrier so nothing can scatter into the cleaned areas... Like roaches, it/they will run and hide. Lots of ways to do it... a line of salt at the doorway, windowsill will work. but there are many ways.

Well the simple answer to that question is yes you can just do one room. But you want to take some precautions if you don't have any stale or negative energy in any of the other parts of your living space, you probably want to close the door to your bedroom of the room but be sure to open up a window so that whatever you moving around has a clear route to exit. But it's just like a house that's infested with some sort of a pest. You can clean the kitchen but if they're still pest in the other parts of the house the kitchen is likely to get re-infected. So the answer is yes you can clean just a spot area but when you have a chance I highly recommend you finish up and do the entire house. I do hope that helps warm regards, Susan

With little animals, if you have no where to put them by getting them out of the home, could you place them in an area you smudge last? Then take them out of there, and do that room? And can you smudge them? Granted they're bunnies so they may not be impressed with the smell.

I am not an expert on animals and burning herbs. I would check with your vet to be sure there is no harm if they inhale the smoke before I smudged close to them.

Hi Susan.. I have a question. My grandmother lives with my family and I. She has problems walking and breathing and can't really leave the house. I know you said not to smudge if there is anyone in the house that is either sick. Would I still be able to smudge or how can I go about doing this?

Hi Sabrina... good question. Best practices would suggest having them leave, but if that's not possible then, 1) IF and I emphasize IF she can tolerate residual smoke/smell, then if possible, you can move her out of the room and smudge it, then move her back. Make sure you open the window if possible and have fans going to minimize the smoke issue for her. 2) a better choice if smoke and breathing is an issue might be to use frequencies. Clapping, Ohm chanting, singing, praying... bang on pots and pans to break up the stale energy. I address this in the video. You could also put a bubble of protection around her, and/or use salt around her. These will work if you are clearing stale, negative or sickness energies. IF IF IF you are trying to clear demonic or evil aggressive energies/entities... then let's have a bigger conversation about precautions. Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes. ~Susan

Yes, you can. You might want to put some obsidian at the doors to keep the negativity out of your room after smudging, or take a small amount of regular salt and put a small line along the threshold with the intention of keeping negativity out of your sacred space.

Hi, I hope you are still monitoring this post. My 15 year old son died by suicide in his bedroom closet upstairs. My mother died a very peaceful death due to old age in her bedroom downstairs. Both of these are in my house, by the way. I want to cleanse negative energy, but not THEIR energy if that makes sense. I don't want to like, remove their spirit or make them feel unwelcome in my home if they are still here. I guess my question is, will this banish my loved ones spirits? I would always want my mom and son to feel welcome here, so i guess I just want to clarify exactly what this ritual is getting rid of. thank you.

hi Carrie, thanks for the question. Yeah if you want to exclude some friendly Spirits like your mom and your son. You might want to watch my video on the difference between smudging and incense. It explains some of this information. But to summarize I would use palo santo or even maybe just some incense because Sage especially white sage. Really does a thorough job of cleaning everything out. Good bad and indifferent. So you would risk potentially sending some of these friendly or Spirits away when you really didn't want to. But the main thing is to set your intentions and give you a mom and son a heads up. That you're going to be doing some smudging. So follow the channel over to the latest video and I think that'll help answer your questions. I hope that helps if you have any other question let me know. @@NiceRockShop I feel like there is some negative energy, mostly concerning my son. My son died two years ago, on Thanksgiving of 2017. I also feel like the fact he died on Thanksgiving has brought some negative energy in as well. Is that possible? It was always my favorite holiday, but now my thoughts about it are very dark and they have been dark regarding that holiday for two years now. After he died, we closed the blinds in his room and shut the door and never let anyone in there. I have been thinking for about two months now that the room is calling out to me to open it up and cleanse it out and bring life back to it. It really feels like a dark, dusty tomb when you walk in there. At first, I think I needed that, but now the room itself seems to be calling out to me, and I also feel like my son is also. What it feels like to me, is he's wishing for me to let that room "live" again. Everyone else thinks this sound crazy... I'm not sure. But I think you are the only one who might take me seriously. At the same time, I had once in my life, a real out of body experience. I went into his room, and he was sleeping in his bed. Sound asleep, I couldn't wake him. So, I thought maybe his spirit was resting and healing there in his bedroom. I don't want to chase him away. So, I will very carefully think on all you've said and watch your other videos. Yes, I watched the one on incense. So, it's probably best to start with burning incense in there. Over the past few days, I have gone in there, opened the blinds, turned on the ceiling fan, and done some dusting and tidying up. Just doing those things made the room feel "alive" and "lighter". My mother's death was on April 23, of 2019. It was the kind of death we all hope to have some day, and so I've not gotten any particular "bad energy" feelings about her. However, a young woman, friend of my daughter is staying in her bedroom and she's told me about a few times where she's felt my mom's presence in there. Nothing malevolent, mind you. But I had just wondered if I should cleanse the room for the sake of the young lady staying there. Thank you so much, and I look forward to any input you have. @@carrielange2692 I am so sorry about your son carry. And I think you must have some innate intuitive skills and gifts. Because it does seem like he may be a little trapped or stuck and calling out to you and what you doing so far as is perfect open up the room open up the windows or turn on the fans do some tidying up. Maybe make sure there's no literal trash and anything that maybe could be sent back to recycle or put back into circulation like some of his old clothes take them to a charity or Goodwill. That would allow new life out of some of his older things that are no longer useful to him. I do think he may be a little stuck and need your help to move on and this is an excellent way to get started. So do the physical cleaning opening up the windows and turning on the fans burn some incense incense are great to bring in the positive and fill it up with life pick a light uplifting sent. And then say some prayers and give your son permission to move into light. It may be time. In terms of your mother's room I would also do some clearing in there and just make sure that she knows that it's okay for her to move into the light also. Just because they move into the light and move on doesn't mean that you can't communicate with them or that they can't come and visit. siliconstate thank you for the question. Well I guess there's a couple of ways to answer the effectiveness question. Generally speaking any of these techniques are extremely effective. If however you have a real serious problem with extreme negativity and or actual evil then we would want to escalate it to a whole new level. Hi Lisa... science tells us the 'left' brain is more linear and logical in it's thinking. It is harder for the left brain to accept the more esoteric things around us. Sensing very subtle stale energy is a job for the right brain... but the left brain is very dominant in most of us, so you have to 'work' with it to move it aside sometimes... hope that helps... Great Vid......however im Australian....and our culture implies the Aboriginal art of smudging gum leaves.....in which starts out with a smoking session around the house in which is conducted by an elder.....who then in turns gives you some dried gum leaves to put in your incense burner ....smoker what ever and you cleanse the inside of your house yourself.....Unfortunately lighting or smudging of White Sage has caused a lot of unpleasant experiences including sleep paralysis and unwanted negative energy......so you cant afford to sit there and say that White sage is the go....even tho i agree its an Native American wisdom....but it also doesnt work for for other sources of beliefs and wisdoms.....Peace

Hi Richard, thanks for watching and your comments. Wow, didn't know that about the Australian and Aboriginal customs. Thanks for sharing. As I mention in the video, there are a number of ways to clear energy, including using frequencies and that smudging (any herb) isn't always the best or only answer. I don't really like using smoke, as it aggravates my allergies... so I use more frequencies when I clear. Do you have a link to more information on the customs in your area? I would LOVE to learn more about it. Thanks again for sharing. Appreciate the input. ~Susan
