I got a funny story. About 8 years ago Ichiro threw a ball up during batting practice. There was a small group he threw it up and I jumped over everyone and snagged it. This lady (clearly an adult) almost starts to cry. I’m in HS at the time and I immediately get heckled by the group of people who also did not get the ball. I literally took off running and that ball is in my living room today. I almost died but it was worth it

6:37 was real cool of you Zack, I honestly came back just to watch that part to put a smile on my face. I've seen you give many balls away but that one always makes me feel good inside. I caught my first homers on the fly at dodger stadium last year before game 5 of the NLDS vs. the mets when we lost. However, I gave one of my caught balls to a kid that day and a lot of people I tell this about, heckle me for it; In reality the kid and his fathers smile when I handed it to them really made me feel great. It also gave them an early head start on father/son baseball bonding. It must feel great to make young baseball fans days each game you go to bud.

I am so bummed out that you came up to Safeco and I haven't gotten to meet you Zack. Love watching all your videos & watching again because I always seem to catch something new. My best day at the field was at Tacoma Rainiers (AAA Mariners affiliate) a couple years ago. Two toss ups and a double barehanded catch with my cell phone in one hand but luckily off the bounce. Which is hard to do but a good day for a ball hawk on a wheelchair. My first HR ball was from Mariners legend Alvin Davis sitting with my family in left field at the now blown up kingdome. Keep making videos because for me it would be something I would do if I could roam the aisles with you.
@zackhample8 жыл бұрын
+1kalambre Aww, man. I'll be back again someday, and hopefully we can meet then. I once slept at the Rainiers' stadium overnight (true story), so I have fond memories of that place. Congrats on the snags.

Loved Z's comments about toss ups. While it's maybe not as adrenaline inducing as catching a batted ball, the interactions with players/coaches are the thing. Getting an Angles commemorative ball tossed up by Mike Trout to the seats in CF was every bit as special as catching a game HR. IMO.
