I grew up using my dad's 12" set of knipex alligator pliers. Never knew the brand of them until I got into the trade and started looking for them. Found my dad's pair a couple years ago and asked him how old they were. He said 15 and I laughed because they say "made in West Germany " So I think they're a little older than 15 years old.

actully have alot of respect for this snap on distributor being transparent about knipex quality. i have dealt with tool distributors where if its not their brand its not good. the best was the matco man arguing matco pliers were better than knipex. i unfortunately had to explain to him the matco pliers were infact made by knipex lol. needless to say i dont buy much from him lol. snap on makes the best needle nose and slip joint pliers other than that knipex or nws

I only own a pair of the knipex 10” cobras and they’re awesome. I will never own a standard pair of adjustable pliers ever again. The push button adjustment is fantastic. The rest of my pliers are Snap On with 2 blue points pliers. What I like about the Snappy pliers is how beefy they feel. I love the flat areas between the pivots and the handles. I also really love the dipper handles on the Snap On pliers. They just feel right. That’s the best way to put it. There not some bulky “bi material comfort grip” which frankly aren’t that comfortable anyway. And they aren’t a thin or very hand dipped plastic. But they aren’t too squishy either.

Mr Clay, I posted my first video this week comparing my Knipex 88 01 250s to the new Channellock GL10s. I'm a huge fan of the Alligator style with the D pin and round recesses but they lack the button and number of adjustments on the Cobras. Gotta have both, and the Channellock and the Snap On. The Knipex needle nose and duckbill pliers are super disappointing because their serrations only go in one direction. I replaced mine with Snap On needle nose and duckbills because they have crosshatch serrations. I’m in aviation, so I use them both a lot to pull safety wire and cotter pins at odd angles, which would cause the Knipex to slip constantly.
