Awesome video, as always! I was wondering if you have made any reviews for these amplifier boards? Theres quite a few of them out there and although they can't compete with high end amps, many less capable enthusiasts (myself and many of my friends) are left scratching our heads on how to choose a board that gives the best results per dollar.

@@HexiBase I have good experience with Ayimia A03 and A07 Pro amp and Sure Wondom JAB4. Others tend to have some noise at least from RCA input, either they are too sensitive or something else. Dayton Audio should be rebranded Sure Wondom if I'm not mistaken. No personal touch with Arylic Up2Stream but they have some good reviews though.

G'day ! Yay Team ! Wow, that's a very fancy bit of Kit....; very very impressive Segue Warning... Did you see Ward Carroll Channel's video, posted 72 hrs ago ? "F-35s GROUNDED" ? The entire fleet. Also all the F-18s. Due to dysfunctional Cartridge Activation Devices, in their Ejection Seats. Which is, presumably, why the Chinese are quite so confident in protesting Pelosi's prancing around Formosa/"Taiwan" (!) ? Nothing newer than F-15s from the 1970s, in the Carrier Battle Groups' CAP Umbrellas..., apparently... Such is life, Have a good one... Stay safe. ;-p Ciao !

It isn't so much the cost of the MDF as the type of "MDF". The only kind I can find these days is NOT standard MDF. It's more like chip board with a weird binder, and it isn't very good.

My listening impressions: Compared to the bluetooth bose speakers we have around the house, this speaker plays considerably lower. The bass and midbass definitely stand out. For some of my music, especially the more acoustic tracks, I would want something more along the line of your simulated response, with a smoother high end rolloff. That being said, the low end sounds very impressive on those electronic tracks. Your speaker is still much less "boxy" than the bose, and what highs are there, do sound better. Would take this speaker over the bose any day (except a day where I need to put said speaker in a backpack). Listening devices: Yamaha NS-1000 and Sennheiser HD 660S

long story short - every video you have made has impressed me. I watched this video with Lenovo Legion 5 2021 model and listened with Steelseries Arctis headset, the sound is of this tiny speaker you've built is strong for the size. I'd like to ask do you still have the video where you do the demo of two towers in the bedroom and another one where you talk about doing a build for your sister if i remember correctly to replace the random speakers she had with a proper set and when she heard these speakers play she cried. yes, I have been following you for years. the video with banging 6.5 incher in the trunk while people thought it to be a 12 or two 8s was also mad.

CNC is awesome tech, but the size restrictions, speed limitations and learning curve means there will likely never be one in my shop. The freedom, scale and speed offered by a simple set of power tools (table saw, miter saw, circular saw with track attachment, router and sander) and comparatively less experience and expertise will have CNCs beat for a long time to come. That being said, this is a gorgeous build and it sounds absolutely stellar. It's a beautiful example of just how far this tech has come in the last decade, and while said tech isn't for me, I do look forward to seeing how it continues to develop over the next ten years. :D

@@HexiBase There's some amazing 3D scanning software out there, and I feel like if someone was to combine that with freeform digital sculpting and put it into a format that CNCs could deal with, there would be a HUGE leap in the arena. Just imagine seeing a shape somewhere that you really like, whip out your phone and scan it, maybe with a little reference card in frame for the software to calibrate off of, and being able to integrate that shape into a design in minutes.
@fredygump5578
@fredygump5578 2 жыл бұрын
@@rhkips FYI, your dream is already reality. The answer is Rhino 3D. It has an interface much like AutoCad, and it specializes in free form surface modeling. It can output STL files, which works for any 3D printer. You can also make exact replicas of objects by 3D scanning. That part is less trivial, but there are ways to do it. (I paid a company to 3D scan a design I sculpted, and I finished the design in CAD. But it is taking more than a few minutes!)

Yeah you could probably do this enclosure using just front and back cutting and a piece of flexible plywood with bracing batons. I do like layered enclosures for the ease of complex shapes - folded horns and the like, without having to glue a bunch of angled panels and hope it's airtight. You can just stack layers and they fit flush, and if you are really adventurous, change the layer profile for dome type enclosures, or just fit the profile of back seating and wheel wells in a car boot.

Hello @hexibase. I am starting to think about a ceiling speaker project. I want to print a 3d enclosure for small Tang Band speakers and radiators. Have you experimented with ceiling speakers yet? I feel so much technology is used in small Bluetooth speakers that can translate to fuller-sounding ceiling speakers. But I am looking for a way to create the enclosure and mounting system. Any input would be appreciated. And keep up the fantastic work you do. Your knowledge, skill, and presentation are, in my opinion, second to none.

Nice! I'm curious about 2 things. First, what's your impression on the SnapMakers CNC capability ? Same as or better that the Chinese CNCs for $400? Second, where did you get the formula for the taper (area vs length) of the port? All the papers I've read are conflicting or unclear in that regard. Would it be interesting to you to compare a straight tube port (no taper) vs what you have wrt bass extension, port noise onset vs volume?

Listening impressions overall pretty positive! Does certainly have a good amount of low end, maybe not the snappiest in the world (?), but certainly not bad enough to complain for non-critical listening. The highs sound suprisingly bright considering the FR, the top top end isn't quite there but that 6-10k sounds all there and accounted for. Though then again this is all a bit subject to my own set up which is a set of DIY speakers that are +/- 3db 35-18000Hz for the most part, after I've done a whole load of room correction with the EQ anyway. It does have a slight upper treble bump (starting around 10k) of 2 db or so which is why this may sound a bit brighter to me

I listened to the demo on some Beyerdynamic DT-990 pro headphones, and I'm loving the sound of that little box! I love that you can get small drivers to make big synth bass parts and kick drums sound like they've got some authority (I could really tell on Shapeshifter). I've learned a ton binge watching your videos recently, and can't wait to see what else you have planned!

I’m verry impressed, especially by the low-end. I’d expect off axis performance to be only so so due to diffraction, might also explain the muted high frequencies. But that did not hurt the performance notably during the demos. More than overkill for the use case. Just listened with airpods pro but those generally sound pretty okay and flat

Somewhere in storage, I have my Granddad's large, credenza-style tube hi-fi, replete with a 33/45/78 turntable and an AM/FM radio. (Granddad once told me it was the last tube model Sears sold before everything hi-fi went solid state.) Your builds are amazing 👏, especially those t line 3D printed sub enclosure producing insane bass considering their compact size. I suggest you that You make bigger versions of enclosure,like for 10-12 inch subwoofers or even bigger, and try to get highest efficiency. I can imagine that if those 3-6 inch subs can get crazy loud then 12 inch would be competing with 18 inch sub with enclosure built by you👍
