Wow tryin to build an enclosure for a mtx 10" sub and the manufacturer recommend a vented enclosure with port area of 2×12" and a net volume of 1.45cft and qts of .670, however your qts values in relation to enclosure type would put my subwoofer in the sealed enclosure category, So is there anything else that would be considered spec value wise to determine what my subwoofer would be most efficient in as sealed enclosure produce a much more tighter bass note but at much lower levels and don't work the best within the kind of music played for the amount of rms power being used, obviously if a sub that can handle good amount of power rms then sealed enclosure can be used but isn't the case, any info you could give be greatly appreciated ?

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love this guy's videos as they contain the level of detail that is of value to a person like myself and my background. However, anyone else get the suspicion that perhaps maybe this particular build-out didn't meet spec ??? I say this only due to the fact that there was no follow-up video with the "in-field" testing of this unit's performance in it's completed form. Granted, I certainly don't rely on a KZbin mic'd video to be my judgment of ones incredible amount of depth and detail to their workmanship acoustically. But it was kind of odd don't you think? I mean, you knew the risks brother. Of course KZbin was going to slap you with some BS due to what they considered copyright infringement which by the way is a higher level of disgusting BS than the bullshit we were thrown from the Bush administration over all those years 😂😆🥹😳🙊 Anyway, my point being..... From at least one of maybe "several" (?), of your higher-level viewership; There lies the question of overall final efficacy in this project. Perhaps maybe post a follow-up of what had occurred without bounds to the KZbin censorship. You don't strike me as the kind of fellow that really is in fear of KZbin's instant intellectual emasculation rules. Perhaps maybe find something with a less YT sensitive trigger point to share with us the outcome of such efforts? ? I recall in another video of yours not too far outside of the chronological period that this one dwells within, that you used a number of easily triggered audio tracks. That video made it out no problem. My question and internal worry or wonder is whether or not the (non-existing(?)) flare-rate held within the final stretch of the combined output path of this enclosure became a detriment of its features or was viable acoustically at all? **My apologies for not having done the calculations or modeling myself in order to actually supplement yet alone stir the very questioning of a VERY competent peer in our chosen industry; but upon first lame view from my aging eye we did thanks we spotted an area of acoustical path error.... "Potentially", of course. And unfortunately due to the fact that I am positively addicted to the only channel in regards to an intellectual value on par with my needs - I am likely to be very judgmental and very assuming to your work. Which, by the way thank God for you my friend. There is few and far between to enjoy on level that you and I would both understand. My applause, my appreciation, and forever sincerest of thanks to your efforts and intellect. Thank you sir!

Staggered ports along the linear portion of the enclosure would give a planar like bass signature. Basically very clean and immersive bass.

You typically do a port of some kind you were testing a sealed box now I always ran sealed boxes myself. It plays a better all around note and you don’t have to worry about the I wonder about your airspace. Is it too specification for the speaker? Or are you smaller on the box and more power, or are you larger on the box with less power everything achieves different things depending on what you do I think it’s funny the test you’re running I ran when I was a kid now I’m 60. Have you read the cookbooks?

There is no debate. It is simple physics! Each of us can make our choice. Large size and efficiency vs smaller size and less efficiency. The lowest bass with a port requires the port to be tuned very low - that means a HUGE box! Acoustic Suspension actually uses the air in the box to support the woofer. Low notes out of a MUCH smaller box. Distortion is more difficult to make claims as a ported box actually LOWERS distortion at the tuning frequency. Let us not forget, above the port tuning frequency, the ported box is no different than the sealed box. At or below the tuning frequency, there are HUGE differences. The open box below the tuning frequency means no support for the woofer and cancellation from the out of phase pressure leaving the port. If the port is tuned to 20 Hz, that may have no effect on our music at all. If it is 50 Hz we could have a serious issue.

Hello dear HexiBase! There are a lot of videos on your channel on how to make a subwoofer out of a small speaker, using a variety of forms of subwoofers, which is great! However, as a subscriber, I would like to see a video on creating a SILENT BOX on your channel, from an engineering point of view. For many people, a silent box is something in the form of a simple box sheathed with sound insulation from the inside. Perhaps with your knowledge and experience, you will be able to invent a design that will surpass simply insulated boxes. As a subscriber, it would be very interesting for me to look at the course of your thoughts.
