I watched a video by another creator that is 3d printing enclosures. Instead of doing a 20% infill he left the cavities open and poured plaster of paris into the walls to create mass and solidity. Have you tried doing this with any of yours?
@JH-zo5gk3 күн бұрын
ok about the bed level. that one corner. since the bed is leveled by 3 points and the gantry is constrained by 4 points you have to think about it a little different. if the bed is truly flat then that means the gantry has a twist in it. if possible loosen that corner and move it up 0.1mm then re tighten.

Ironic that you also have a Chevy Sonic, as im here to consider printing an enclosure for my Chevy Sonic too

What software are you using to model the tapped horn? I have used HornResp before and what you were using did not look familiar to me. Thanks!

Do you have any Set up videos for your integrating your programs together? I'm completely computer illiterate. I can barely function hornresp. But I would LOVE to have to tools you use

I'd recommend to try Ground Zero's 6,5" & 8" GZIW drivers & as they have way more fitting properties for your projects and are not expensive. For example you could have gone for 30hz f3 using that volume - and with significantly greater efficiency. Though I also understand why you are using those Dayton Audio TCPs as they are easily attainable to everyone.

Please tell me what design software is capable of graphing response to complex enclosures! Specifically a 6th order bass reflex. Thank you!!!!

Wow. What a great walk through of the sound engineering process and considerations for a single subwoofer box. Jaw dropping. Can definitely look forward to more like this 👍🏻

you could make it an all in one if you put a tweeter in the top.

I'm pretty clever but you're so knowledgeable it's a tiny bit discouraging lmao 🤓 👍 thanks for such a in depth video. I am planning on building a bandpass subwoofer in my car and really had some questions about tuning it. Hope you can help otherwise I'll be going through your whole KZbin channel for as much info as I can absorb.

Didn't know about this channel until I was reading a comment about B2 2" subwoofer on Willingston audio labs (Big 'd' Wiz) Question, you know the channel Barevids? He does alot of repair on car audio amplifiers, as well as making, testing and port tuning small enclosures.

My son has been able to end some adhesion problems with children's art glue sticks. (Not hot-melt; the stuff that resembles Chap-Stick). You apply it to the bed before printing.

Hey Pete, I learned that oversized vents are more efficient, is the same true for larger PMs? Lets say the PM 3 has times the surfacearea of the active chassis vs a more conventional PM setup where the PM is roughly 1.5 of the active chassis area.

Intuitively I would say this method would work best for in-ears, because the mics of the MiniDSP Ears are INSIDE the dead at the end of the ear canal, creating all kinds or resonance (probably explains the high mids of the Harman curve?). Which would compound with your actual earlobes and canal right? Am I making sense? Sticking an omni mic in between my headphone cup and ear, then playing back pink noise and looking for the sweet spot seems to work pretty well for me. Then take multiple measurements in slightly change the position of the mic and average them out. It seems to represent the actual audible response pretty well. At least it helps in measuring differences between headphones or adjustments I've made to them.

Wow surprisingly my airport Pro 2's kept up all the way down, in noise cancelling mode while driving on a highway in a loud car. For headphones that I found on the ground these perform surprisingly well, let alone them being in ear, let alone them being an Apple product.
@benstraus749519 күн бұрын
so the small t line enclosure dos scale, you did a 1/3 scale, therefore it is tuned 3x higher than it was if theres a driver thats also 1/3 the size, so now if it was tuned a 40 of HZ with a 3" driver now its tuned to 120 HZ with a 1 inch driver. good for prototyping enclosures and seeing the response without using the material required for a full scale build, although room resonance would not scale the same way, so testing would need to be done in an anechoic chamber or as close to one as possible

I am just using a Logitech z533 PC-Sound System fo my normal daily usage or when I watch movies etc., then use a Logitech G Pro X GamingHeadset when, well, gaming and it got this neat microphone on it from Blue microphone company, i did not get the upgrade-mic from blue for my headset which is supposed to give this headset an even clearer sound, but I do often get to her that my mic is super clean and almost podcast sounding ^^ (must be because of my settings on the mic-EQ, logitech really outdid themselves with that <3) Still for my condenser.-mic i do use "Pace-EQ-APO" to setup highpass/lowpass filters etc. to make the sound as clean as possible, yet i do like it less bassy as this super bass heavy podcast feeling does sound clear but to heavy, like it more on the light side and it is also much more comfy for Teamspeak and Discord that way :D

i think the hybrid section needs a video of its own, including how the drivers handle excursion playing low frequencies, applications of these types of enclosures, what do we need to do to calculate the tuning of such enclosures, and if there is a video of the build process of your tower speakers I would love to see that

You should definitely consider putting your models on Maker world as well. That's the site owned by Bambu Labs. People get tokens and can boost other people's models. Those convert into real credit on their site to buy filament, printers, accessories and more! You literally have nothing to lose. If you aren't interested in doing that and are willing to give me permission to repost on your behalf, I would be more than happy to do that. Thank you for another very interesting video and even more for sharing your enclosure model. 😊 I am becoming more inspired to build my own speakers by the day, thanks to you.
