When a coil is in question, always try to start it with the kill wire off, but remember it won't stop running with the key, so be ready to pull the plug.

I got a Snapper given to me by my neighbor. He said it was fixed by the local snapper dealer. The unit ran for two months and just died. After I got it home and worked on it I found over a dozen things wrong. Here goes, gas tank had 16 holes put into it by the shop, worn belt. fuel line cracked, filter clogged, drive wheel worn, broken clutch cable, throttle cable rusted stuck, ignition switch shorted, engine cooling fan not fastened, carburetor rebuild, oil change with one quart gasoline, fouled plug, shorted kill wire, dead battery. I am just amazed how shody the work was for one. Then the cost of what the guy paid, 800 plus dollars. Talking about how much this guy was screwed is just an understatement. How many years did Snapper make the hydro model ? Do you think it was worth getting the rider ??? Nice work fella

A good wrench for the anti-backfire selinoid comes in a kit for emergency bicycle repair, super thin, and not to big, and not to small, fits right into that small area.

I checked for hydrolock once without properly grounding the coil wire and had a nice test of the fire extinguisher.

My buddy was given 2 riders he gave me 1 and this is the exact same mower and i put batt in it cleaned up fired right up goin to cut yard today with it to try it out i wanna do oil change 1st but this things built lile a champ

Flywheel key will not affect opening and closing of valves. They are timed to match the piston with crank gear timed to camshaft gear. Flywheel key may affect the spark timing and put it of time with piston and valves.

I have an SR1433 with a Kohler engine, the reason they have those brackets on the back is because the mower can be tipped on its back for vertical storage and repairs or maintenance. I wonder if they stored it vertically and later checked the oil, then overfilled it because they thought it was low?

Thos brackets are for mounting the optional grass catcher

Easiest way to get to batt is taking seat off

If oil is thick then not likely from flooding. Those engines take close to 1.4 litres or us qts. US quart is .946 litres

you should have set values.. check carb to see if you are getting gas to it.
