*TRUE STORY:* I'm an American who happens to live next door to a church. I yell at my daughter's idiot dog in Pikey (sp?) out of respect so I can curse without offending any of the churchgoers. Plan was going great til a lady called the cops thinking I'm some drunk lunatic yelling threats at the church. Cops show up, I explain, and both were dying laughing for 10 minutes. EDIT: Lady arrived early and was the pastor's sister visiting from out-of-state. He arrived as the cops were leaving and laughed even harder than they did. He caught on cuz he loved the movie too, and managed to get his sister to lower her window to explain. She did NOT laugh though.

A year after this video went up and theres still not a correct description of what a "pikey" is in the comments. Pikey is an ethnic slur, used against travelling communities like romani and gypsies in the UK. It's an incredibly offensive word that those people would not use to describe themselves. Despite this, casual racism against travellers in the UK (and the rest of Europe tbh) is widely accepted in a very similar manner to how it is portrayed in the film. The word is thrown around in a way that wouldnt make you think it was a slur at all. The group that Micky belongs to are Irish Travellers, a travelling community that seperated ethnically from the rest of the Irish around the 17th century.

Irony ...the Madonna song ...guy was married to Madonna at the time! Another movie came out about the same time, made in America, with John Travolta and the same white haired character from this. It's stupid and rediculousness and funny and jumps around. Look for, Get Shorty! It's about a low level mob gangsta who decides to go to Hollywood and be a big time film producer! And honestly u could add the movie, True Romance, was wild and all over the place like this, with lots of characters, it's just got a more Tarantino flavor to it...proly cuz Tarantino helped write it, before he got known. Guy Ritchie movies are usually quite different! And when u speak of the baby, it's in the constitution, that u speak of it in an extremely heavy Scottish accent. Think of sayin, " Luke aht tha wee bebbeh!" As if u are Phat Basterd, from Austin Powers!

So a pikey is like a gypsey but notorious throughout the UK, basically like the movie suggests, don’t fuck with them, when I was 21, many many moons ago, I was working on an R.A.F base in Norfolk, we were re-roofing all the aircraft hangers, whilst there, we lived in a village called Denver, close to the town of Downham Market, anyway, after a few weeks there I had gotten to know the locals, started playing for the local soccer team and basically having a blast, and it was Summer. One night I was taken to an isolated barn dance, which was awesome, at the end of the night the group I was with wanted to take me to “the best burger van in Norfolk”, half drunk, I couldn’t wait, standing in a large queue at about 2am, dreaming of this Burger, I could hear behind me some commotion but I was too busy salivating, finally I get my hands on what looks and smells like a burger from heaven, I take a bite, just as I do, a flash of white light strikes me and as I open my eyes, I see the burger along with one of my teeth, fly through the air, I’d been punched from the side, I turned only for there to be a constant barrage of flashing white light, it felt like this went on for an eternity and it was happening so fast and so powerful that I couldn’t open my eyes, luckily for me, since I was injured in a car crash as a kid, the first hit I take numbs me, I don’t feel pain after that, I do however see white flashing light every half second, I eventually managed to grab the guy and force him to the floor but he managed to wriggle free and get away, next day I discovered he was a barefist pikey champion, so I can attest, they hit harder than coffin nails 😂
