I enjoy your videos. You have a very nice speaking voice. As someone who has a lot of experience with Locs, my suggestion to you is the less you have your hands in your hair, the faster they loc. Only style them in the beginning if you absolutely have to because otherwise you are disrupting the locing process. As far as products for retwisting and maintenance, it will take some trail and error to find your best routine because no two sets of Locs are the same. I usually find that less is more. Good luck with your journey. The first stages can be tough but be patient. The outcome will be amazing!

Thank you so much for this advice! I definitely struggle with keeping my hands out of my hair, but I’m working on it lol. Thanks again!

I make flaxseed gel and mix in a little aloe Vera gel and a few drops of castor oil. Sometimes I use the Aloe Vera gel by itself. I’m going to look into the Napster gel. I haven’t used any store bought gels in my hair.

I about 2 weeks in, and I already had to wash. Tell me why I look 6 weeks in? None of my twists unraveled or anything, but the frizz and the roots... cant wait for my first retwist 😩
@kmariepitts3 жыл бұрын
I can relate ! I’m only a week in and my hair is so frizzy and the roots are loose . My hair is so soft so I expected my twist to look crazy at root but not this early on. Trying to wait 6 weeks to retie.

Thank you so much for your loc journey videos! I've seen so many videos but your channel has exactly what I was looking for from prep, styling, parting, and maintenance! I've also seen flaxseed being used as a retwist gel. Loc crush makes it for her retwists. Hope that helps and can't wait to see more! *subscribed*

I was told not to wash my hair for 2 months if I want my locs to start locking. When u washed it for this first time did notice if it took longer for them to lock up?
@SharmelLynnette2 жыл бұрын
Two months without washing sounds a bit extreme. I honestly feel like it doesn't really make a difference in how soon you start washing your starter locs. I think I noticed my hair starting to loc/tangling as early as 2 months, but in general they won't start "looking" like locs until around 6 months. And it still takes about a year or so for them to completely loc. Long story short, if you feel like you need to wash your hair, wash it lol.

I started my journey march 2nd,and washed mine the first week. I didn’t like all that product in my hair weighing it down,and the itch omg. I was told to wait to wash,but I really believe in healthy scalp. When I tell you I really think water locs hair faster it does. I ce washed my hair twice before two weeks,and retwisted. I started seeing buds all over after I did my first wash. Water,and oil then I’m out the door. I have soooooo many buds y’all,and tomorrow is my 3rd week
