I think it would be a really neat idea to integrate the touch ID button into your desk instead of a bulky dongle that can get knocked around on the desk. I wonder if DIY Perks would be willing to have a go at it?

It’s not that hard. Just use a router to create a crater in the table top that the dongle can seat in. Then cover the dongle with a wood vinyl. Et voila.

It'd be easy. Just make a hole in the desk and then you're done haha. May drill a Touch ID-sized hole right into my keyboard deck and put the board inside. The options of where you can put stuff are kinda limitless, but I liked the idea of a dedicated module.

I would even go ahead and modify my already existing mechanical keyboard to incorporate this as a "module" by either modifying its casing or making an attachment in the same style. You can then splice the incoming usb connection to that keyboard for 5v and ground and then connect it to a lightning port/cable. Then you can have it work even more seemless!

Awesome video Snazzy. I actually complained to an Apple employee that this product should exist quite a while ago! So it’s awesome to see you build a product I’ve been wanting for so long. This certainly seems like a great project and if we can get a few remixes or third party batteries to fit with the logic board, to make the product as small as possible, I really think I’d take the plunge and buy one of these keyboards to build this project. Great job and looks amazing for your first 3D project!
