IWI-US is as red-blooded an American company as there is. The sales/service manage in Middletown saw how much interest in 5.45 guns on the forums there was, and convinced IWI-IL to make the limited run. And it sold out so quickly that the Israelis made it a standard offering. I am jonesing for a 13" pistol.

Have have a 16” Saiga loaded with a polymer adjustable stock, full-size aluminum hand guard, fore-grip, medium-size light with remote, and 12oz optic. That rifle is 4oz lighter than a Gen 2 Ace with nothing on it.

Love mine. While I know it’s not technically an AK it’s still the nicest AK I’ve owned. I’m normally and AR guy but I love my Gen2 Galil pistol. Thing fits in a backpack and eats any and all types of ammo. The handguard does get a little warm but nothing a set of gloves can’t solve

Waiting for the 13" 5.45. Wish we had more production AK74, but I can get behind the Galil. Have a Gen 1 in 7.62 and can't believe the accuracy. Right up there with the sig 556r I stupidly sold, but the Galil is better. For now, I still run my Waffen Werks Bulgy 74.

You neglected to mention that the magwell on the gen 1 ACE's actually blocked the user from inserting wider mags, such as Bulgarian waffles and Xtech MAG47's.

Even if mine wouldn't be subjected to such adverse conditions on a regular basis I'd rather have and not need than need and not have a simple piece of material.

@@lordcrimson913 Inrange "test" is fucking stupid and not even a test on the proper sense of the word. It's more of a random experiment. Avoid falling into a 3ft deep pool of mud and your AK clone will be just fine (assuming IWI didn't fuck it up with the trigger reset like they did with the X95).
