C'mon - the enemy AI is shocking, and the levels are starting to look repetitive like they have been for the last 10 years. I remember playing Sniper Elite the original and it was awesome, then Sniper Elite 2 came along and it took it to new heights. Sniper Elite 3 was kind of like 2 but with the x-ray mechanic, and since then it's just been more and more bloody repetition. It might not be broke, but god damn it - everyone’s had a ride. Time to move on.

These games can really lock you in for an hour (or more) of immersive fun each mission...i find myself crouch walking along...admiring how the character reloads the rifle in perfect detail...and having... fun...the background music in 5 really was perfect for this too. They're great games given the likely smaller budgets.

Too many comments saying it’s ok the series hasn’t changed or evolved or added anything new. It’s fine to enjoy what you enjoy but this is the wrong attitude to take with companies who will always choose the safest and most cost effective route to turning a profit. If we as consumers don’t expect or demand improved/evolved content with each new iteration, this is all we’ll ever get. Reskins and rehashes every year for full price. Zero innovation. Agreed. I enjoyed Sniper Elite, but asking the full price for this feels pretty wrong. They could have went with a 30 euro option and call it a sort of standalone small chapter alongside the series. Although it could have been an actual DLC for Sniper Elite 5 just as easy. Even on a graphical standpoint the game isn't better.

Agree with this. SE4 was peak SE for me. SE5 had it's moments for sure but felt a little dumbed down in places and the levels don't feel as replayable. This is just SE5 DLC...I'll play it one day but not until it's on sale

Couple of ways this series needs to evolve: - Parkour. There's already climbing, but it's super contextual. The Saboteur is set in WW2 as well and there this free-climbing worked perfectly. - Penetration. Snipers firea large catridge, it can go through some walls. Using the X-ray could extend to objecfs and their innards too. - More varied and maybe tad bit more linear level sections to allow more varied encounter design: These big maps where enemies just wander around gets pretty stale.

Although improvements and new features can be great, sometimes the same old with new maps and missions are just as good. The Sniper Elite games can easily hook you for an hour or two at a time and still be fun in the process. Maybe it's a stop gap for SE6. Hopefully, a new theatre of war, whether it sticks with WW2 but goes to The Pacific or a new character in a later conflict altogether.

One thing I do not understand - they know how to make uniforms accurate yet they mess them up on purpose - Blue SD soldier for example - give him SS runes - correct! give him shoulder boards with correct insignia - yes they do! Add sleeve eagle to the left sleeve as SS worn - Correct! ADD ONE MORE EAGLE on breast - WHY? It is not supposed to be there! And main villain - why does he not have Arabesque Collar Tabs when other generals do? ????

I don't like the criticism that this is not an improvement on SE 5. This isn't called SE 6, everyone knows that SE 5 came out just two years ago, and it's not a full-priced $70 game. I like Sniper Elite 5 and have pre purchased Resistance. I knew by the previews it really is the same engine/assets with a different main character. This should of been more of an expansion of part 5 (Sniper Elite 5.5) if you will. Still looking forward to playing, especially the survival modes with others. This game would greatly benefit if we had a level editor for user created full maps (no need for cut scenes, just gameplay), survival and VS. team play modes. I don't know why this isn't an option as this would elevate this game 100 times over.

What bothers me about the xray system in both mortal kombat and this game (and any game) is that it actually has no impact on the fight at all and does not show damage on the character model after the xray is over, so it may as well not exist.

If Sniper elite is going to get lots of negative points for not being "much different" then how come that logic never applies to any sports games and arcade shooters like COD. I guess ill give bo6 a pass, but COD Vanguard (the one most people forget even exists) got a 7/10 (higher than this game mind you). Most sports games are literally $70 roster updates with identical assets and mechanics. I haven't played this, but highly doubt this game is worse than something like vanguard or literally concord. Gaming "journalism" is giving mediocre games a believable enough score to keep in good terms with devs and players. IGN has zero credibility when they say a game like concord is "good". Let alone when they review any games with long term depth, they barely scratch the surface then hold their user errors against the game.

If there was ever a game built for battle royal/extraction it would be SE or even the zombies game. All those assets and ready made or built maps can easily be an interesting online multiplayer experience. Or!!! They can double down on already built assets to make a more expansive open world giving the game play more depth and steps to further immerse.
