The Loadstar is kind of a beast. I unlocked the Quarry, and Zengorgisk or whatever today. Used the Loadstar to run over there and got the upgrades I needed for my Tayga, and literally used the last gallon of gas I had to make it the Tuz. Was a whole lot of fun.

The TUZ is the ultimate scout and rescue vehicle. On my first playthrough i didn't know about it so i didn't get it until very late. But on my second time i got it as early as i could and used it to unlock all the watch towers, get all the upgrades and then used it to rescue vehicles. Especially early on before you have any real upgrades as far as tires and such, its very useful for pulling a truck through mud or a river. It stops for nothing and its almost indestructible.

From the very start of the game the Loadstar is most useful scout vehicle when it comes to everything other than scouting. Also devs should let us pull bigger trailers with it and not just the small ones for little trucks. The Tatarin I feel like is a "look what I can do" vehicle. Not much use outside of being a cool vehicle for 1 or 2 specific things.

Someone released the stats on Reddit, but as a general rule of thumb: #1 tires are slightly better on road, #2 tires are slightly better in mud, #3 tires are slightly better offroad. There's a couple outliers, but the tread pattern of a tire indicates what it's suited for when you have multiple choices. Chained tires are sometimes worse than the #2 unchained tires. (UOD 1 = Road bias, UOD 2 = Mud bias. UOD 3 = Offroad bias.) For whatever reason, the price of a tire seems related to how easily it's punctured, and the "Excellent/Good/Poor" stats don't accurately indicate which the best tire choice is. An example of this, is the TMHS special mud tires on the Tayga actually have slightly worse grip than the normal mud tires. It's frustrating, but, the most expensive and highest level tires aren't always the best.

If I could only have one I would pick the load star because it can pull a trailer and get the 8-speed gearbox. It clearly won the trailer pull you noted as a tie (albeit by very little). If you could put a 1-slot flatbed it would be almost too good especially for an early game truck.

It's amazing how many of you missed the entire point of this being a head-to-head challenge. Winning the one challenge the APC lost by putting it in auto doesn't change the outcome of the testing; frankly, this was about *showing how good the Loadstar is* and not about the APC's clear advantage in terrain. A head-to-head challenge is void completely if you change the rules for one vehicle. It's ridiculous that the Loadstar is good enough to compare at all to an APC.

The most funny thing is, that you don't have to put the Tartarin into low gear that often. usually you can run through swamps etc in auto mode with high gears. I only found a total of 3 spots on normal path' where i had to put tha Tartarin into low gear. However if you would compare a Tartarin in high gears vs any Scout in low, it's clear who'll win. :D

I really like the Tuz even though the lack of chained tires or snorkel, is a beast off-roading. I completed all the watchovers with it. In the snow it performs very well the only problem is the ice. And the 300l fuel tank is amazing. I thought the tatarin was a complete gas hog but no. It’s very efficient

For the full throttle you are just in neutral and accelerating. The correct way is to accelerate in low gear with the handbrake on. That is the real limit of the consumption. In the Tayga I get up to 24 l/min sometimes

You should consider not testing all cars with low gear. Whichever car is faster will usually have an advantage in low gear compared to a slow car in low gear. the comparison should be which car has the ability to make it through an obstacle most effectively, period. Putting something like the TUV in low gear handicaps it because it’s strong point is that it can go through virtually any obstacle in this game at top speed without losing any momentum. When I first watched your comparison of the TUV and YAR87 before I even had them in game I was convinced that the YAR87 was better because I had no reason not to believe the data given (the TUV is undisputed as the best scout) but now that I’ve put time into the game I can see that some of the testing can lead to not so accurate results given actual in game situations and the fact that you usually aren’t in low gear in this game in some of these vehicles

You need to test the Voron AE-4380. This truck is the best you can buy early in the game without needing to go actually find it. Even without upgrades it can go through almost everything, it is super stable, fast, doesn't eat much fuel, especially with the normal gearbox (I feel like the upgraded one isn't a good option since it doesn't change much and makes it use way more fuel). It's almost as good as the Khan Marshall for scouting and running through harsh terrains, except that it doesn't flip as easily as the Khan, and it can have many trailers and options. I'm currently using it for nearly everything and I'm only level 7 now.

You might want to start including mileage into your "fuel efficiency" numbers. 29 minutes in that snail-low Tuz won't get you near as far as 19 minutes in the Loadstar.

It's not accurate at all, I'm guessing the vehicles are just being put in neutral and revved. When pulling a load or making the engine do work, you'll see fuel consumption go higher than the neutral rev. Not that it matter much to me since I use "the tuz tank" mod which gives it Tayga tires, rear steer, a roof rack, a snorkel, and the ability to tow trailers.

In my option TUZ is the best car (or APC?) in the game when we talking about scouting, which it is main task to do. TUZ can go everywhere, even though hell, get a fridge magnet, drink tea with Satan and took Berlin on it's way out, it's a best off-road performance car in a game, well what about Loadstar it's have many addons and it's good on ice but for scouting it's better then half of cars in a game but composing to Tatarin it's horrble, only with low gear, winch and god's help it can go after 7 hours though places where TUZ can ride in few second on auto. So for me, every other scouts not even composible with TUZ, yes many of them have many addons and tires that only help them on ice, but isn't it easier to use Off-road like Tayga, Azov 64131, or mk38 civilian? Scouts are made for scouting, and Tatarin have no concurrents here.
