Here we are on the next one for this drain. Lots of weather changes pulling this beaver dam. What did you guys think of the fall? I will definitely fall better than that in the future, lol.

Thank you, efromtheinternet! 🐀 😎 Apparently, it's been around for a while. I started doing time laps versions in the beginning. Through the comments, it became apparent that real time was the way to go. There is just something about running/draining water. 🦫 💥 🌊 🌊 🌊

Hi Terri, 👋 I have had to drag the 🛶 out a couple of times. 💪 😆 Yes, it's culvert time. I definitely learned some lessons on trying to film in a metal tube, lol. I made a magnetic camera mount for next time. I did not get a lot of great footage. I am pretty sure it's clogged again, so I should be able to redo it this spring. Then, I have a couple of long canoe rides, 🛶 🌞

Hi, Rafik, 👋 That's a good observation. 👍 My goal is a bit different than most. I remove as much of the debris behind the water first. This way, I can make sure it doesn't just float down the water and get stuck downstream. A lot of it goes downstream anyway, but I get as much out as possible. Also, once the water starts running, I get more wet, trying to pull the debris out. Some places like this don't have a large amount of water behind them because there is another dam just upstream. By saving the water , I use it to help me remove the hard to get mud and debris toward the end.

You should never - ever - remove a beaver dam during winter! When the water is drained their is no protection anymore for the beavers and the cold air has free access to the inside of their lodge and the beavers will freeze to death! That is called animal cruelty! Shame on you!

Hi Harald. I think you made an assumption. You are absolutely right about removing a dam during the winter. It would be cruel and illegal. However, the 🦫 's were removed from the area first. Now you might not like that answer any better. But, I would never do as you said. I am a licensed trapper and know a lot about these animals. I get commissioned by our municipality to do this. It's only in areas where they have recently moved into and are causing flooding.
