Can't really weld the block (well, it can be done, but whether it will hold or not is iffy), but you can have a sleeve put in that cylinder which will work fine. (The Block is bored at that cylinder and a sleeve - a hollow metal cylinder - is pressed in. I've done lots. Works great.)

Great team work by this experienced husband/wife farm team. Laura, you should think about running for a public office in a few years. Everyone knows you, you are an excellent presenter and you have a magic for getting the job done no matter the task. You would make an epic House Representative for District 3. Check it out. Would love to see a common sense, well spoken person in Congress someday.

Yes the cracked block can be welded. Is it worth it, probably not. Keep it for parts and to repair other motors. Also, don't hang that much weight on the tip of your tines. That much bend can permanently weaken the tine, even more than drilling a hole in them in the first place.

You and Grant are a great role model for young people. Too few of the younger generations know what actual work, common sense, cooperation, and perseverance really are. Oh, and we jokingly call using a hammer to break something loose "percussive maintenance." Best to your and your families for a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2023. God Bless.

I worked at a co op and we built frames for the engine's and tanks,I also had to deliver and level them, instead of the legs just weld some rectangular tubing on each side that way you just drive up and slide your forks in and your set,can always use small cement blocks or dig a bit to level them!!

Don't apologize for taking time off or doing content that is different but u enjoy doing it. Always remember Noone on their death bed wished they worked more than they spent time with family.

When it’s cold have a spray bottle with airline antifreeze in it and spray it on the hitch latch, it will melt ice in the latch so don’t need a hammer hammers and cold weather break things. I drove trucks for 40 years and that’s what I used to free up frozen latches

Love the videos! You guys are awesome! Quick tip for ya - anytime you might be working with hose clamps - toss a 1/4" drive ratchet in your pocket with a 5/16"and a 1/4" socket. That way you don't have to worry about the flat screwdriver slipping - and you can get the clamps loosened/tightened easier...👍

I believe it is the block that is cracked, not the head. The head is still on the other bank. If it is an external crack it can be welded to stop a coolant leak. If it is cracked internally also, like in the bore, you are talking money to fix and re bore. Perhaps you could do a video of you rebuilding an engine sometime?

If that block is only cracked through the water jacket it's an easy fix. Take a wire wheel and clean any rust off, then use a dye check kit to see where the crack actually is and ends. Next take a small drill and drill a stop hole at each end of the crack. Now use a burr to V out most of the crack and braze it up. There are thousands of older farm tractors and equipment out there with brazed water jackets from the occasional "OOPS it got cold faster than I thought" I have one that was repaired on the old family farm by my grandfather in the late 40's, still going strong and hasn't ever leaked.
