As if it really needs to be said again, the party is called "The Scottish National Party". Not "The Scottish Nationalists". The SNP have expressed clearly on several occasions their wish to not be misnamed in this fashion. It's a deliberate attempt to colour the views of the party by associating them with negative connotations of historical nationalism movements. I expect it from the opposing parties, but I'd expect more respect and even-handedness from the deputy speaker! You don't hear her referring to the Conservatives as "The English Oligarchy".

To some extent, perhaps, except he starts with a fallacy. I have little time for Blair 2.0, but he didn’t actually praise Thatcher, he said she tried to encourage the British entrepreneurial spirit. That was it, he didn’t praise her for it, didn’t even say she succeeded. Why are those on the Left so keen to swallow whatever nonsense & propaganda the Torygraph is spewing?!? It’s so puerile, the Tory client media doesn’t want the country moving to the Left, even the v centrist cusp of the Left, so why believe a word they say about the leader that wants to do that? We should be better than that🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The SNP can afford to be a protest party in Westminster and can get away with saying what they want. The SNP are in no danger of having to represent the UK internationally so can afford to protest like this. (Just do the maths. They can only get 59 seats maximum. In a First past the post system it is only a two party system really.) The SNP can do things locally in Scotland and act like this in Westminster but as long as they are part of the UK in FPTP they will only be a minority group in UK parliament that the government can ignore. Even if the worst Tory polls are accurate and they only get 77 seats they still outnumber all of Scotland. The SNP will have to win big in England to actually follow through in UK/Westminster politics.

What was the % of indigenous people in those days? Now it is far less, the trade unions knew in the 70s that joining the EU was have a disastrous impact on the British workforce and our standard of living, that's why Tony Benn and the trade unions were against joining the EU. We embraced the Windrush generation after WW2, we did require help in those days to rebuild our country and infrastructure, so many men died in the wars. However, today, those same people would be against mass immigration because they could see what we can see, we are being replaced with foreign nationals. Now only 70% of the people that live in the UK are indigenous to it and that is shrinking fast.

@RifleEyezbut you can point to the obvious economic benefits of immigration. Oh, and talking about mass migration in reference to England makes it very obvious you only listen to propoganda. We face far less immigration than pretty much any mainland European country. If you spent a minute of your life thinking for yourself you would have found this out. It's a simple Google to realise we ain't facing mass migration, we are facing regular ass migration. Us not being able to handle it is a failure on our part not a failure on the migrants part for thinking our country as better than the shit hole it actually is.

"contribute to our public services" but what Sunak has left out is you can now only do that if you earn over £38.6K from spring 2024, unless exempt. So if you want a work visa, and an entry-level role is below the new £38.6K (of which there are many) you're now out of options, because of this ridiculous new move from the government! I'm shocked by the jump from £18.6K to £36.6K per year. That's for spousal visas, work visas and more, unless exempt. It's going to limit all jobs that fall below that threshold and cause absolute misery for those who can't meet the 38.6K a year threshold. Oh ffs, I have little time for Starmer, he is waaay too centrist for my liking, but he did NOT praise Thatcher! He said she tried to encourage the British entrepreneurial spirit, that’s it, he didn’t say she succeeded, he didn’t praise the evil cow for the attempt! There is plenty to criticise Starmer & his policies for, so why do numpties continue to take Tory client media lies at face value?!? Why would you ever believe them…except, I suppose, to confirm your own prejudices?!? Utterly puerile, shame on everyone on the Left who’re swallowing what the TORYGRAPH spews!!

All under one banner, the people across Scotland will exert our sovereign right to dissolve the act of the Union with the backing of the UN and ECHR, who we will take our 2024 General Election vote asking for help in ending all English taxation and rule so our people across OUR NATION can then decide if they wish to join NATO, the UN and the EU or even hold a discussion on the future of the Monarchy in Scotland. Now that is human rights in Action, and we are not staying in a polical Union with England as you now threaten to take our human rights away by leaving the ECHR.

It must be hard for conservatives to be utterly and unshakingly convinced that migration, economic migration, too (they always make it sound like economic migration is unjust - but none of them have EVER been poor on an existential level .. so how could they possibly know) - a bad thing .. so bad that they project it on their sheep that vote for them. But on the other hand .. they must know economic statistics .. that society NEEDS the influx of migrants. Who else would care and pay for the elderly ? ... oh, and there are so many elderly ... most of them vote Tory.

Sunak really kills me. Mainly on the immigration issue. Has he looked in the mirror and think about his ethnicity history or is he just blinded by the spot he (parents, grand parents, whoever) already conquered as an UK citizen (def not from traditional UK ethnicity) and blinded by such is so egoistic to close the doors for the same chance to others? you really have to be pretty cynic, plus the use of arguments is really not his strong. Tories last 4 PM were great, indeed. In my opinion May was by far the less worst (considering who come after her "forced" goodbye to the pm cargo: Boris Johnson, no comments; Liz Truss, "death" by scandals, a month as PM sums it up; Rishi Sunak, also no words - and my parents taught me not to beat on "dead" people). Stephen Flynn just wiped the floor with Sunak, really...
