Also, Zack did Jesus imagery because that's how humanity, media and society viewed superman, not as a human but as a God amongst men, the film was telling us why psychologically projecting our visions, our beliefs on a figure makes them empty and alienated.

The only dark comics of the 80’s was the Vertigo imprint, TDKR, Killing Joke and Arkham Asylum Serious House on Serious Earth. People will argue Death In the Family is dark but other than Jason Todd’s death, it’s pretty ridiculous, stupid and not dark at all. I’m cool with dark if it fits the character, it does not fit with Superman. Read Birthright, For All Seasons, For the Man Who Has Everything and All-Star Superman if you want to understand his character.

Batman and Superman have so many layers in the comics but people are very stubborn they want the classic feel of the characters. You can make the characters feel classic by the end of their journey not at the start with force humor. Zack Snyder needs to tell the audience that every major change in the character will matter to their journey but getting there will be the hard part. The general audience doesn't know about the Injustice comics or Flashpoint.

I know the movie was met by a lotta critical backlash. I myself for once kinda hated it on seeing it for the first time. DC movies' niche is always the darker more serious tone, it always has been since batman begins. WB should acknowledge that instead of turning into another marvel. turning more align to the competition is not a smart business decision. if their argument is to reduce the risk of box office flop, look at birds of prey, WW84, and the movies they butcher, suicide squad and justice league. they only look at the success of marvel movies and the success of wonder woman and aquaman, but they missed the part where the entire dark knight trilogy and man of steel are the best of all superhero movies. And even BvS despite of divisive fans, is still a box office hit, and part of BvS bad critic is because of the urge to cut the content and mismarketing bvs into a full blown action movie. look at joker, they marketed the movie as realistic depiction of joker with oscar worthy performances and it's a massive hit. imagine if joker was marketed as fun lighthearted, full of actions and jokes. it would have been disastrous. BvS should have been marketed exactly the same as Joker, setting people's expectations right should be the priority of marketing, not pulling as many people as possible into a movie they don't want to see.

@@theAmazingRaccoon Imo reason why dceu failed its because of shazam and justice league like mos and bvs had certain tone gritty tone then those two movies I’ve mentioned totally ruined the tone of dceu also justice league being rushed to catch up marvel Also Zack’s original plan was to make batman solo movie and then add bvs opening scene as ending credit that was his plan But studio interfered 😅 In bvs ben as bruce wayne and batman was 10/10 loll maybe in justice league he was bitch in bvs not a fucking chance
