I was surfing oceanside a few weeks ago during a south swell and the water did get extremely warm for 1 day. I think that warm water blob might have actually been accurate.

We pulled 5 yellow tail off the pangas in ensanada on Mon 4/15. 20-25#.

Plus… the dang eclipse 😭 When the sun stops shining at full strength in the middle of the day for that long, there are going to be some serious negative impacts on warming trends.

Yes winter came back for a couple weeks. On an inshore front the bass are into a spring bite mode. Had limit style catch and release fishing for Calicos and Saandies in OC. Water still cool but small SW current, moon phase, and longer days I think all help. I think from years of fishing that the sunlight day length/higher. In sky triggers spring bite/spawning for inshore bass.

Calicos didn’t want none front side SCI, I think we caught 2 total. Water was 60.5…. It will come
