I’m going to repeat what I’ve suggested previously. From her venture into the popular standards with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra- “Someone to Watch Over Me “. When she recorded these classics she included the verse, which many artists leave out. This song shows her versatility. Next: “ Down So Low”, shows her soulful side, and it will give you goosebumps. “ Try Me Again” is from the same album. Finally, from her country era, “ Silver Thread and Golden Needles”. She also did a cover of “Crazy”, which was originally by Patsy Cline.

@@chuckragland9972 Oh, I didn’t forget. I have all of her albums with Nelson Riddle. The song I suggested is one of my favorites she did with him. And yes, the Batman theme is fab! I loved that show, I think I was 10 years old. I actually like it more, the older I get. I really appreciate the campiness, which I didn’t get as a 10 year old. Actually, the album by John Mayhall, that has Eric Clapton on it has a song that, the minute I heard it, it was the Batman theme. I’m sorry I don’t remember the actual song title. I’ll have to look it up. Back to Linda, her voice is one that I can easily get lost in. How about her rendition of “Feels Like Home”, a Randy Newman composition? It’s just beautiful. And the 2 albums she did with Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton? Extraordinary vocals!

Linda is like Elvis. She refused to be limited to one kind of music. She has warmth and power and humanity in her voice and, like Elvis, she sounds even better live. She's funny and kind and well read. She also gives so much back in life. She's one of those people who have made their mark in life by impacting the lives of others in a positive way. I'm rambling now but i just can't say enough good things about this woman. We could do with more people like her.

Love when you sang with Emy Lou Harris. By the way I went on to teach. Linda’s nephews were in my school and her cousin Brandy was in my class. Two of my favourite Linda Ronstadt songs are 'Blue Bayou' (and I love Roy Orbison's version too, particularly since he wrote the song) and 'You're No Good'. I also recommend watching the documentary about her life, 'Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice', which covers the full span of her career up to her sad Parkinson's disease diagnosis which tragically is robbing her of her voice and the amazing range she had.

This is a remake of a 1963 song by Doris Troy which once again, she makes her own. The way she does the "Ca--a--are"! is how it's done in the original as well. She stayed fairly close to the way the original is sung but the instrumentation is different and her ad-libs toward the end are different. Huge hit for her.

Linda Ronstadt part of a supergroup in the 80s called The Trio. It consisted of Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou Harris. All amazing vocalists obviously, and the harmonies are incredible. My favorite Emmylou tune is Boulder to Birmingham. She wrote it while she was grieving the death of Gram Parsons and released it in 1975. Dolly Parton and Joan Baez both covered it in 1976. Joan covered it in concert for her 1976 live double LP album release. Tom Wopat sang it on an episode of The Dukes of Hazzard in 1984. Bill Danoff, who co-wrote it, recorded it with Starland Vocal Band on their debut album.

I'm 58 years old and was a huge fan of Linda Ronstadt and Crystal Gayle was a kid. Two of the best voices ever. To me Linda was Country, I even have a Country Music Magazine from 1978 where they ask the fan's if she was "The Queen Of Country Music?". So I never really knew her as a Rock Star. Although both her and Crystal as well as Silva and maybe Charley Mclain in the early 80's were considered Cross over artists. Have you reacted to Crystal Gayal's "When I Dream" yet? I don't think so. Would like to see you react to some of the songs Linda recorded on her two Old Standards allbum's with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra. I think you would be blown away with Lisa Stewert singing this song "Just One Look" I mean, live on Music City Tonight Circa 1993-94. Lisa was a regular on that show, so was Shania Twain before she hit it big and they would sing hit songs as tributes to many artists. Lisa was drop dead gorgeous and had a phenomenal voice in her own right. She could literally sing anything. Also found video of her performing another LR song "Different Drum" during that show on KZbin. By the middle 80's, I fell in love with Holly Dunn, and I'd like to see her music get more attention. In the 90's, Lari White was my Gal. Holly, Lari and Kelly Willis all need allot more reaction videos as I haven't found very many. These gals deserve to be rediscovered. Three incredibly underrated and beautiful woman with amazing voices. All of them very talented song writers as well.

I had two aunts that weren't shockingly older than me, they had all the cool LPs, a room with shag carpet, sweet hi-fi and I definitely remember this one from when I was around kindergarten.

“Just one look” was written by R&B artists Doris Troy & Gregory Carrol. Doris’ recording of it was a hit in 1963. The Hollies, Anne Murray & Linda Ronstadt & many others had great covers of the song over the years.

Originally recorded in 1963 by Doris Troy. She co-wrote it with Gregory Carroll. In addition to this cover, it's been recorded by The Hollies and Anne Murray. Doris Troy's version was used in a Pepsi commercial starring Cindy Crawford that aired during the Superbowl in 2001.

Linda had one of the greatest set of "pipes" ever. Her cover of "You're No Good" and "Long, Long Time" is awesome. So many great songs she recorded, in English and Spanish and was responsible for getting a lot of groups together back in the day including the Eagles.

If it hasn't been mentioned yet, look for a documentary film that CNN made a few years ago called "Linda Ronstadt - The Sound of My Voice." I think you'll enjoy it. You'll appreciate her even more, and learn a lot about the music industry in the 60s, 70s and beyond.

I agree with Scott. I love the song “Silver Threads and Golden Needles “ by Linda. That was back in the sixties. She has a unique voice with anything she sings. She sings that Spanish music from her heart. They were her father’s song so she recorded them. She is awesome!!!

Love Linda my all time favorite. Suggestions for more her cover of Rolling Stones Tumbling Dice, Her cover of Eagles Desperado equals or even surpasses the original, Silver Threads and Golden Needles, Somewhere Out There (Duet with James Ingram), Someone to Watch Over Me (an old American Standard by George and Ira Gershwin), What’s New (from her triple platinum album of classic American standards of the same name) or Poor Wandering One from the Gilbert and Sullivan Operetta The Pirates of Penzance. Tons of other can’t go wrong with Linda

For pure vocal showcase I recommend Poor Wondering One from The Pirates of Penzance. Pop opera but still shows she could also sing opera. Classic standards with What’s New. A vocal chameleon. I was lucky to see her perform live. No effects and sounded as good if not better. Incredible singer.
