There's no point in removing it now that the game won't have legendaries that are a breaking point in throughput. Azerite traits are very minor in their impact compared to legendaries. I could see implementing this for 120 content. But doing it now while we're still dependent on legendaries which were designed in a system that supports gear swapping. Has just made it very toxic for players trying to do higher keys without being able to adjust gear for the situation. Some specs were far more reliant on doing that then others. Like BM Hunters using shoulders for increased pet damage during AoE pulls to improve beast cleave. But then switching to Bestial Wrath legendaries for bosses.

Most classes are running at least one flat percentage damage increase gear for mythic+ unless they have two legendaries that help all dps situations equally, like afflictions corruption legendary with absolute corruption. Helps no matter how many targets there are. Taking niche legendaries that are really only good for one type of dps or another is bad after the gear swap removal.

The gear changing is just an extension of not changing specs/talents mid run I feel like its the whole idea of m+ 'this is my best dungeon running set' Granted I never felt the need to push it past m+15 but I also think I'm correct in thinking the vast majority of the playerbase doesn't either

When preach has his ui setup it would be great to have a guide on how he put it together. And what he’s using. It looks super useful. I’ve never really messed around with aura’s or the ui much except for like bagon or flybuffplates. But the new standard ui is that off putting to me that I’d be more then willing to use something like he is. Plus it looks helpful.

well the mobs dropping a lot of gold im gonna assume your pointing towards dragon soul and the reason for that was because they don't want something like that to get out of hand and end up inflating WoW economy even further than its already crazy amount. also it would become hard to correctly determine the costs of WoW tokens without making them too easy to get or the gold become meaningless to the person that sells WoW tokens. that's most likely what they nerf things like that for.

I had no idea about Dragon Soul. I only used that as an example. Probably a better example would be if mobs somewhere (I'm making this up) gave a lot of xp outside of the norm, and players were farming them to gain levels. Once this has been discovered by them, they'll nerf it quickly.

Any bug that improves player's playtime. For example, if a particular mob is bugged causing them to give more xp, rare loot, etc. If Blizzard finds out, they pounce right away, yet other bugs in the game (like the 60-80 leveling for example) that players have been reporting on for years, goes ignored.

In the context of M+ that's actually true though. Pressing a macro to switch gear isn't a choice. Bringing every possible set for every possible scenario isn't a choice. Choosing between a more defensive set or an offensive set for the whole dungeon IS a choice that actually requires you to weigh pros and cons. You walk into a dungeon with a layout, and you commit to that layout, which forces you to make choices.

Choosing your gear exactly a single time, as oppose to choosing your gear per boss/per specific hard trash packs is a literal reduction in choice lol Just because the actual act of pressing a gear set button to switch your gear isn't a difficult thing to do doesn't mean that you didn't CHOOSE to farm and create an entire set to specifically counter something. I agree with you that pressing a button isn't a choice but you have to choose to care enough about beating difficult content to construct those sets in the first place. Sorry but picking 1 set of gear isn't a choice, it's the illusion of choice that just feels terrible whenever you arrive to a situation that doesn't suit your set up.

I don't buy that argument either. Mythic plus is designed at it's core to give more challenge as it infinitely scales up with each +. The only reason I see them doing this is so that people don't feel bad for not bring different sets of gear.

I boosted a mage last month on Ravencrest (Rezista) and I'm just pushing keys. Fire is capable even with my shitty 235 gear. Frost doesn't do more damage, but the slow is really viable later on. Wierdly enough, fire is more tanky. Arcane is meh. It can do Mythic+ but it falls off at 20+ . My experience is that trinkets are very important right now - Beacon, Decimator and Toe (lower kara) are sick.

I’d say monk if you want to be able to tank or heal sometimes, and like melee dps. But if you prefer ranged dps obviously mage. They’re so opposite, it should be easy to decide. You’ll have to be ok with eventually tanking or healing as your monk so if you want to only dps go mage!

IAmKasinova then I’d definitely go monk so you have the opportunity to heal if you decide to try it out & get good at it. Just as long as you don’t mind melee dps, because there’s a good chance you’ll end up being ww for the most part if you decide healing isn’t for you, during questing, and until you’re comfortable healing. If you have a monk at 110, mess with mw and see what the spells are etc. I mained a mw monk in legion and loved her, only using ww to quest to 110 & do wq’s. I only decided to switch mains this expansion because i wanted to dps more, and ww isn’t my favourite. So I switched to hunter to have the three dps specs to choose from, and I’ll have a shaman and Druid alt to heal or do spell casting dps if I ever want to.

lol this was soooo much like a run I did the other day. +14 lower kara as well. We'd just all resubbed. I had just setup my demo ui, our mage was playing fire for the 1st time. Tank had no idea what had changed and neither had our priest.. We made it well enough but man it was confusing. The numbers mean nothing to me yet. I have no idea if dps was good, bad, whatever..

If you think it feels bad having leggos locked, try healing a dungeon with a strength mace equipped because your new non-artifact weapon doesn't automatically swap out when you respec, and you didn't notice until halfway through. Oops.

I don't know how long its been a part of the game (a few years now at least) there is a feature in the base ui that lets you assign gear sets to a spec and that will cause all of the gear to swap.
