I agree, this is a real Rocker in it's style and attitude. Nice guitar work added to the mix as well. Leonard Albert Kravitz was born on May 26, 1964 in New York City, the only child of NBC television news producer Sy Kravitz and actress Roxie Roker. His mother was of African-American and Bahamian descent. Kravitz's father was of Ukrainian-Jewish origin. He has been quite successful, Kravitz won the Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance four years in a row from 1999 to 2002, breaking the record for most wins in that category and setting the record for most consecutive wins in one category by a male.

I had a music (CDs) store when this came out. It was a huge hit and I mean fast. First week or 2. Sometime around 1996 I took my oldest son, then in 6th grade, to see Lenny Kravitz open for the Rolling Stones. Phenomenal. Great reaction JM.

I've been a Lenny fan since the first album Let Love Rule. Its interesting to watch his musical progression. The first album had a lot of acoustic based songs , with each album after that his sound became heavier & more electric guitar driven. By this album Lenny was in full rockstar mode. Always enjoyed Craig Ross's lead work with Lenny , they were a good team.

I like this one, but my favorite song of his is Low. You'll get recommendations for his cover of American Woman, which is good (but I still prefer the original myself, as I do in most cases, call me old-fashioned #lol) Have you discovered Teena Marie yet, solo or with Rick James? She's worth exploring on her own, but she & Lenny Kravitz had a connection. He was homeless at age 16 when she took him in, mentored him through his early years of exploring music & getting his feet under him. He made a tribute video when she died (at an unfortunately early 54) thanking her for her impact on his life. Teena Marie's fans called her the Ivory Queen of Soul.
