Thanks for this roundup of good news. It's truly a step forward to see gerrymandering breaking up and decades of Republican political strongholds beginning to fall. This was the first election cycle where I donated *hundreds* to the top campaign, but it was also the first campaign where I wrote postcards. Because of those two steps, I felt better about my own efforts to resist 45's return to the White House, and it encourages me to keep engaged going forward.

I attended my local Democrat party meeting last night. They talked about setting budget priorities and fundraising over the next year to prepare for the 2026 midterms. Now is the time to get involved. You can also get involved in the pro-democracy movement through Indivisible, End Citizens United, or Center for American Progress.

It is super encouraging to see these democratic victories in an otherwise pretty dark election. Another silver lining is the remorse a lot of trump voters are feeling, even before trump has a chance to destroy the country. If we still elections going forward, I suspect republicans are going to have a rough time of it.

I don't think this is getting talked about enough, maybe you could help. In PA, I understand the majority of the Amish population registered and voted for the first time. My guess is because a woman (nevertheless a woman of color) was on the ticket. I think this needs to taken into consideration for future elections in that state.

As a constituent of Harris's district Harris fought to keep an innocent black man in prison and refused to prosecute police excessive brutality and violence and tried to put parents in jail for their Childrens truancy and is pro death penalty and is against a living wage and accepts AIPAC money as she is pro Netanyahu's genocide and she has fought against transgender health care and fought against legalization of Marijuana, this is not the type of character that should president besides she threw the working class and poor under the bus which makes us working class and poor mad and as a leftist progressive independent I didn't want to vote for her especially after I voted for her for California attorney General besides it was anti democratic and fascist to coronate Harris as president and then their were her condescending insults

What ever the reason people did not vote for her, this election was about "Democracy" which is why so many Republicans crossed the line supporting her. Military Generals even tried to warn people! All that you've listed is irrelevant if you don't have a Democracy. Voting for a convicted felon of 34 counts out on bond awaiting sentencing Nov. 26th, liable for sexual assault and didn't do anything for the people in his first term. @ubub932 yea well im a disabled senior transgender women and democrats are just as prejudice against transgender people. In the repeal of DADT that banned transgender people from military service and ended the right to equal access for transgender people. DADT was created by democrats and signed into law by president Clinton it forced lgbt people to commit purgery to be in the military. Democrats did not legalize roe v wade the courts did but democrats held hands with Republicans to defund roe v wade with the Hyde ammendment in the 70's and democrats promised for 50 years to codify roe v wade into the constitution but never did even Obama campaigned on codifying roe v wade when he first ran for president but after getting elected he refused said it wasn't on his priority list. It was democrats who passed the religious restoration act that allowed Christian businesses to dictate women's health care and discriminate against the lgbt community. And it was biden and the democrats who wrote the most racist crime bill in modern history in the 90's. And it was biden a Democrat who got a law passed that prevented students from declaring student loans in bankruptcy along with medical bills. Democrats vote with Republicans at a minimum of 90% of the time. We have a 1 party system with 2 sides like a coin it's a duopoly. Republicans get taxes for the rich and democrats are to keep the masses in control. 70% of USA citizens wanted medicare for all including Republicans except for the wealthy elite and politicians both parties but the people were told we don't have the money but do have the money for the Ukraine war and billions more in weapons plus billions to Isreal and billions more in weapons. We have an epidemic of homelessness and both democrats and Republicans refusing to do anything about it. In 1982 federal minimum wage was 5.75 dollars an hour today federal minimum wage is only 7.25 dollars an hour. In the last 40 years wages have only gone up 17.5 while housing has gone up at least 264%. Harris fought to keep an innocent black man in prison and refused to prosecute police excessive brutality and violence and tried to put parents in jail for their Childrens truancy and is pro death penalty and is against a living wage and accepts AIPAC money as she is pro Netanyahu's genocide and she has fought against transgender health care and fought against legalization of Marijuana. SO PLEASE TELL ME HOW DEMOCRATS ARE ANY DIFFERENT FROM REPUBLICANS. What makes democrats any better. Because as a baby boomer I have not seen it in my more than 60 years and as much as I try to delude myself I can not anymore especially after all the condescending insults and elite snobbishness and throwing working class and the poor under the bus which im part of the poor working class, so the truth is im not rich enough to be a Democrat or a republican. But I do see through the lies of both parties

Also, in my home state of Oregon, who gained one electoral vote from 2020 (7 to 8), flipped the new district fom red to blue. And, our first Black female house member, Janelle Bynum. One more good thing!!!
