I've never seen the original show but the movie is amazing and I can't imagine anyone could not love it. It's visually stunning, the actors are amazing, the chemistry between the characters is amazing, the storyline is great, the music is wonderful. I just love everything about it. I haven't seen the original but the visuals and colors in the movie are gorgeous and I got the same great feel as when I see live performances. I thought this movie was amazing from the visuals to the story to the music.

Haven't seen the movie, but I was told to expect it to be a different experience to what the stage production does. It keeps the core themes and messaging in tact but there are a lot of changes for it to better fit a film story structure. Soooo... It's probably important to keep that in mind.

Asking for people’s opinions! When I watch musicals, I only listen to a few of the songs and I only get the bare minimum on the plot, I don’t really like knowing too much when I experience a show. I would really like to watch the In The Heights movie but if I ever see the show I feel I would regret watching it. Sometimes (for me at least) watching a pro shot or movie can put me off the show itself (even if the show is really good compared to the movie/pro shot, I just wouldn’t bother). So should I watch the movie? I don’t think it has any plans to come to the UK, but if the movie is popular it may return. I don’t really know, sorry if this didn’t make much sense, but thanks. TLDR: I want to watch this movie but I don’t want to risk ruining the experience of the show itself, should I?

I saw a screening of ITH about a month ago, I thought it was very well done, but I also could barely remember the stage show (I saw it on Broadway in 2010). It's definitely a summer movie (it was snowing here when I was watching the screening, so it felt kind of weird) so I'm excited to see it again when it's actually warm outside!

i saw In The Heights on mother’s day at an early cinemark screening, and i absolutely loved it. (this was my first time in a theatre since the sonic movie came out) when i first heard that In The Heights was being made into a movie, i specifically went out of my way to *not* watch or listen to it (or any of the trailers, no matter how much i wanted to). i was blown away. i loved it so much, and i can’t wait to watch it again. also shout out to the guy in my theatre who, during one scene, just kept saying “this movie is going to win an emmy. it’s gonna win an oscar”
