Mk vs DC wasn't the best however I believe its the most important game in the franchise. This is the first game with the story mode we have today, and introduced the DC characters that would later get their own game in injustice.

Sf6 got a fair amount of flak when the roster got leaked(like shortly after it was revealed) and it was just as small as sf5’s roster and missing many highly requested characters, yet it still broke records.

@@kujo4388 Well yeah but the roster of the game doesn't really have an effect on the actual mechanical function; the issue im talking about is that you would either have to have it be a Mortal Kombat game with Injustice characters, an Injustice game with Mortal Kombat characters, or design an entirely new fighting system just to mesh the two together, but then it wouldn't be Mortal Kombat or Injustice and that kinda defeats the purpose; your only other method would be to do what Tekken and Street Fighter tried to do with TekkenXSF and SFXTekken, and have two different games, each with their respective franchises mechanics and by that point, a major American developer like Netherrealm has already scrapped the idea altogether due to resource management and time restraints; I'm not saying the reason it won't happen is because the fans wouldn't be happy, although I'm sure some of them would no matter what as I mentioned before; but rather because it basically can't happen in a way that makes sense to do; it really doesn't need to happen anyway given the state of both franchises and how well they're doing on their own right now; at the time MKvDC released, it was a pretty rough time for both franchises and they both had something to benefit from a crossover, even if that crossover ended up being pretty rough around the edges; in 2023, Mortal Kombat and DC are both in very good places, as good or better than they've ever been; an MKvsDC sequel at this point in time would be impractical and unnecessary

The close combat wasn’t just luck my dude, it was literally a rock, paper, scissors mechanic that was a ton of fun! Some of the DBZ budokai games used the same mechanics for fusions I believe. Which was like two or three years prior to this game! So I’m surprised that mechanic didn’t catch on more or get beaten to death like QTE’s

IMO, I think Injustice 3 should be DC vs MK. Its been over 15 years since we had that crossover which I believe paved the way for the entire Injustice franchise. It would be under the Injustice name, so hardcore Mortal Kombat fans wouldn't need to complain about another T-Rated MK. It could have potentially the largest roster in the history of a Netherrealm game and would be a great game for Ed Boon to direct before he retires.

Glad to hear the love for this idea because I love it as well. We got MK guest characters in Injustice and DC guests in MK…so why not go full out? I’ve seen people online against the idea because of this game but that doesn’t make any sense to me at all. It’s like when a beginner cook makes you a meal vs a pro chef making you the same meal. NRS are now pro chefs and Mk vs DC in this day and age of crossovers would sell like hotcakes. WB wants their multiverse to succeed like Disney? This is a good way to do it.

As a long time/die hard mk fan this was and still is my least favorite entry. Not only did it fail to deliver a good mk game but it also failed to be a good game. It has NO content. Story is bad but it was expected to be as such, no alt costumes, tiny roster, no single player content, very bland and uninspired finishers, just failed to deliver on every front. Seriously how could you like this game if you remove nostalgia? I see a lot of poor souls say this was their introduction to mk so they love it and it just feels misplaced.

Man, when I was 14 I wanted an xbox 360 but we couldn't afford one so I got a paper round. For months, I'd wake up everyday at 5am to deliver newspapers before school for £15 a week until I could afford to buy an xbox... I was desperately excited for this title, regardless of getting the Gears 1&2 360 bundle, this was the game that kept me fighting through the South Wales winter mornings to keep delivering my papers and keep saving for that xbox.
