SO MANY CHILLS AND FEELS! I want to hug Korra so bad. I'm reacting/first time watching to THE LEGEND OF KORRA 4x4 ("The Calling") and this brilliant episode continues the high quality storytelling of this final season of KORRA when Tenzin's children, Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo, look for Korra, while she's still haunted by the past and fears in the swamp... and Toph may have more than one valuable answer to her uncertainty. AND IT'S BEAUTIFUL TO WATCH. Really loving this final season, KORRA IS GETTING BACK!

Yess! And it all feels pleasantly natural, the dynamics, the story, a the tone, like it's so smooth. Love how it balances lighthearted adventure with very serious undertones in each dynamic. Really good storytelling. Oh yo, that moment at the end of the episode is cathartic for real, and the music and the pacing if the scene is perfect. What an episode, what a season so far! 🙌🏻❤️

IDK how far in the season you're in but i can see you are gonna love ths season so much and it's gonna become one of your favorite hing ever, korra was already my girl since ep1, she was funny, nuanced, interesting, conflicting, inspirational and very humanly flawed as a person. Although i can see why some people may be frustrated with her at the star i think the writers did a great job at showing us who is korra and why this conflicts are so difficult in general but specifically difficult for her, and this season is the pinnacle of korra as character(and as a person in the end) because she is battling against a question that each one her enemies has brought up, is the avatar, and by extension her needed? And so begins the battle between herself that will who she is. My favorite character in fiction ever!

Hey there Nicario! I have yet to see ep 6, and this season is really sending me places, blowing me away. Korra is su layered and interesting and entertaining, what an underrated and beautiful character. Oh yeah, I think one of the keys to the great storytelling of this show overall is to keep Korra's inherent flaws there while still learning and trying to be the best she can, acknowledgimg her mistakes, having the world questioned in her mind, outer and inner, nadnust keep giving her problems so she can solve them, and I love how this season really is the culmination of her character reaching a final mature stage in this story. It's so rewarding so far. Can't wait to see the rest of the direction of this beautiful season and series!

You must make peace with what already happened in order to face forward, life won't wait for you, and if you stop for too long you will lose sight of it Something that I have seen in some other reactors is that they think that Korra will be okay now, so it leaves me pleasantly surprised that you don't think so, but now THAT leaves me the question: What do you think should be Korra's next step? What do you think will happen in Zao Fu? As always, a great reaction and always waiting to see more!

Exactly! Human universal themes that are worth to be reminded of and it's so rewarding when it's well told in stories like these. Interesting! The way it's taken literally 4 episodes for su to see her struggles and her find out what's happening and how to face herself just tells me that, that the battle is non-linear and she'll keep struggling, like after all, it all feels very mature and adult. Having now seen ep 5 already, I guess there will be a lot of speech power from Kuvira and Korra will have to decide how to face it. I gotta say, ep 5 leaves me pleasantly surprised in terms of mature character development. Can't wait to see more! And thank you so so much dude! More coming asap 🔥🙌🏻

This was an amazing reaction, I'm so happy you loved this episode. This one is very special to me for very personal reasons. I first saw this show near the end of 2020 and for the last couple years I've been struggling a lot with anxiety, related to my work. When I first saw this episode it was perhaps at its peak, just this constant state of fear. When I saw this episode, everything i was feeling felt validated. I felt everything Korra was feeling and everything Toph said to her, I felt like I was also carrying around my former "enemies", though for me it was horrible customers. I would keep going back to interactions with them and it was like I was still "fighting" them, as it were. I can't watch Korra bending the poison out of her without crying. I'll never forget hearing Toph for the first time saying. "That fight is over. Release the fear." I just burst into tears because I felt all of that. It was like she was talking to me. It was such a powerful scene and the music is god tier. Korra as a character just continues to inspire me. I can't wait to see your reactions to the rest of the series!

So glad Korra as a character and her emotional journey has helped you and inspired you! I really wanted to tearbend, but I can say it's such a powerful moment to see her do that at the end. Oh yeah, the music really is like film like, its not normal this in a show. Korra has become one of my favorite characters ever. She's literally beautiful in every way. And thank you so so much! I really love how they use the original team avatar in korra, like they didn’t just pop them in for no reason or over used them so the story depends on them they fit the story. Like katara is directly tied and involved as she was married to aang and is from the southern water tribe like korra so it would make sense for her to train her, Zuko is a world leader so is directly threatened by the events in book 3 and both aang and korra were brought to toph as she was the only person that could help even tho they didn’t know at the time
@darquidarqui

I really appreciate that as well, and even though I have my feelings about how they used Zuko in particular, it still overall feels organic and well integrated. Aang, Katara, and now specially Toph, I think so far she's been used brilliantly. Whether in flashbacks involving Lin's character conflict and now Korra's internal struggles, it really is adding a lot to the substance of the story!

This episode is probably my favorite of the entire season. 4x2 makes me cry for the pain that Korra is in but this episode makes me cry for the triumph that Korra gets. It’s so deserved. When she finally reconnects to Raava, I just can’t help but be proud of her for her breakthrough. What I love about the kids is all the little callbacks they do but also the relatability of them. I feel Jinora SO much because of course you gotta deal with younger siblings trying to cause havoc while you’re just trying to get this done. And Ikki finally getting love! She’s such a middle child but so important and finally we see that. She’s got the relationship that aang had with animals and she’s definitely the most empathetic one. It’s nice to see that. Meelo is such a brat and that makes sense as the youngest. And the kids being pulled down by the swamp just like in ATLA when aang met Toph, even meelo finding the berries that Iroh was talking about that could be a good tea or poisonous. It’s quality stuff like this that make me love this show. Wonderful reaction as always!!

For some reason, I always felt this was Ikki's (best?) episode and your (and Diego's) descriptions just make me think more of it. Maybe also because we already see so much of Jinora's character in Book 2-3, while Meelo is mostly a comic relief anyway. Great summary as usual!

@@mariopenavic8573 definitely Ikki’s best episode! You really get to see how she uses what she has to help out. Her using her cuteness to be underestimated by those guards, they didn’t even realize she was so small she just pulled her hands out the rope like it was nothing. She had those guards helping her on her mission and was still kind enough to leave them a snack. This is easily her best episode and it’s beautiful to see how each sibling brings something unique to each situation they are in.

@@darholland3566 Spot on! The kindness and wits combination is what really reminded me of Aang as well. On a funny note, it makes total sense storywise too, as Ikki is the only out of three of them who would manage to induce a true Lima syndrome in her captors; Jinora would ignore them (or maybe even taunt them?) in her own fashion while they would try to get rid of Meelo as soon as possible, fartbending and all!

It's such a great mirror to Korea 4x2, I agree! This episode deserves so much love, so much to experience here. Completely agree! It's not just refreshing because it's fun and it's something we hadn't seen in Korra before, but I love how many subtle layers of themes about feeling blocked, left out, and enthusiastic to achieve are developed thorough their conflict and personalities and how much it mirrors Korra's state of mind and personal journey. It's so clever. Oh yeah, loved those ATLA callback! And thank you so much as always, legend! 🙌🏻🔥

Great reaction, Diego! and understandably very emotional! Indeed, this episode had great direction (Colin Heck, I think?), in showing great parallel plots, yet both connected thematically to searching and finding (an alternative name for the episode, haha, ''The Searching''?) something you need to move on; the Airbender kids in their search for Korra and Korra's search for help and the resolution of her issues. Also great music, especially in the scene where Korra metalbends the poison out! Everything about the scene is just so triumphant! I know I am repeating the praise again, but all three voice actors for the kids did amazing jobs, especially in showing the ups and downs of a typical sibling relationship, which as you pointed out somewhat even mirrors the previous generation, I mean Aang and Katara's kids. (I am the older sibling, like you mentioned yourself I think?, but I can definitely understand where all three of them are coming from, to a degree.) My favorite of the three however is definitely Ikki and the Lima Syndrome she induces in the two Earth Empire soldiers is something that still makes me chuckle at how silly yet believable it is! You definitely laughed and smiled a lot in this episode. If possible, Jime should definitely come back for the last few episodes, or at least the finale. And regards the ginormous headphones, they reminded me of a helmet (?); since you mentioned just how much the episode references Star Wars, I got the impression of a Rebel Alliance resistance pilot, haha! My only gripe with this amount of time spent in the Foggy Swamp is that sadly we didn't see any of the tribesmen from ATLA, although I think Toph mentions them briefly in the previous episode. I would like to think some of her enlightened views come from interacting with them, maybe even with Huu (that guy who waterbends plants to form a treelike figure around himself), if he lived that long.

Thank you so much as always Mario! Totally agree, this is in my mind one of the strongest episodes of the show, it's also super mature and every emotion is so well earned! Oh for sure, they totally made the episode work so well, I think it's one of my favorite approaches of the show to tell the story of an episode:through the perspective of three children that serves as a great mirror to Tenzin's dynamic with his siblings, great thematic connection to Korra's struggles, and it's just so much fun. The jokes, the interactions, the fights, it's all super well directed and written. Oh Ikki RULED in this episode, yess! Jime will come back for sure! Just wait for it 🙌🏻 lmaooooo this just made my night, they really look like a Rebel Alliance helmet 😂 may the force be with the headphones. Interesting, didn't think about that! My only nitpick is just that maybe a but less of Meelo and more of Jinora would've been perfect for me. Regardless, fantastic episode the whole way through 🙌🏻🔥

Yeah this episode was pretty awesome. This is really helping me to appreciate season 4 on a whole other level. And when that guy said "we still have one of those?" Like when the children were asking around for Korra just really hit me. Aang was the avatar in a time when people desperately wanted an Avatar. Korra is in a time where people couldn't care less about her Avatar status. She has had so many "enemies" not only the villains but her mind, personal strughles and even the perspective of the people she's fighting for. The sad thing about this is that a lot of this is really just subtext, you know so only a keen viewer can really pick up on certain stuff. And am sure as we all know there were a lot of background problems so the creators couldn't explore all these themes and factors as outwardly as they should have. So a lot of the time to the average viewer, Korra comes off as weak, but she really has so much stacked against her and still she keeps fighting. Fighting for a world that she loves even though it may not always love her back and that's what makes her a freaking Legend! Damn this girl deserves a whole lot more credit than some people give her. As I said I truly do believe that because most of this is in subtext a lot of it is lost on the average viewer but anyways, yeah korra is awesome and deserves to be appreciated.

This episode is so meaningful and powerful the whole way through! And well, with Korra is like a test of patience, it's like you're Tenzin at the beginning and you see her grow and the you're really proud of who has she become. That for me is super rewarding cuz it's not only emotionally resonant, but it's also the protagonist's journey, one who has flaws and learns but fails time and time again. She's one of the most human and realistic characters in the Avatarverse, and season 4 grounds her to total reality and it's even more captivating to watch. Idk, this show is vastly underrated from what I hear but deeply loved by those who follow this journey with so much loyalty and passion. This show surely is one of my favorites already!
