The Night scene with Sarah, the Build up to the reveal of infected was so tense and creepy. The music for it, the plane crash, the acting in her death was perfectly done. Her death hit me even harder than the game

Everything was so well done. One thing I'm not seeing people mention is how much Gabriel Luna nailed Tommy's voice. At times I felt like Jeffery Pierce was dubbing him.

21:29 - the music cue when the FEDRA soldier sees them sneaking out the QZ is the same sound you hear in the game when you're in danger of being found by an enemy. Such an amazing, subtle touch. This show is already a masterpiece.

Things that i notice in the 1st episode. -Gabriel Luna, the guy who played Tommy, is so good in this cuz he sounds exactly like him -The spores coming out of their bodies especially their mouths -The amount of amputated people adds so much to the setting implying that they survived the infection. They even look like fungal people tbh -Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey were in Game of Thrones and Pedro Pascal smuggling a kid? Sounds like a fella i know from a galaxy far far away. These are all little things that add so much to the show that is already a faithful adaptation of the game. And to the people who watched it early said the 1st 3 episodes were some of the best episodes of television in general. The bar was so high yet it blew everyone's expectations. I can't wait for the next episodes and your reactions as well❤️ Edit: I thought i was going crazy but at 21:29 you will hear a sound which is EXACTLY the sound in the game when you get caught by the enemy when sneaking. They have thought of everything🤯

Druckman and Mazin confirmed there aren't spores in the TV show. There are Cordyceps instead. That's what was hanging out of the mouth of the old woman. So the infected bite you and then implant Cordyceps inside you that grow over time.

I like how they stayed faithful in certain elements of the game. But I also love the small details they added in this show that weren't in the game to give more personality to the characters. Like how Tommy is still Joel's little brother and kind of still dependent on him. In contrast how independent Sarah is prepping breakfast and taking care of his dad, Joel. How Sarah pointed out Joel's shirt is inside out. Kinda like how Ellie mentioned to Joel that his watch is broken. The ex-military detail they put on Joel's truck which explains why he is to be feared after the whole world went to sh*t (I'm not saying the military should be feared in real life but the skill sets they have that can be used in combat). Cant wait to see the rest of the episodes of this series.

Not everything Sarah is brown not white like in the game, Elie doesn't have the best actor for the apprentice of the character. But it is good so far but after the ending of ep2 it might just fall apart

Surprise raisin cookies really are a mood killer. Love the expanding of the universe and some of the nods to game especially the camera angles during the truck ride. Loved the episode and can't wait to see the choices the show makes.

1:05 That is actually a fungus irl, and that irl fungus is called "cordyceps" (cordy as in cortex = latin for "brain", ceps = latin for "taken". as in kept or captured)

I love it already and can't wait for Episode 2, I'm so curious to see Frank and Bill as well! Bella as Ellie and Pascal as Joel was the best casting I've seen on a video game adaption in ages! I love how they show us even more of Joel and Sarah's father-Daughter relationship, it made her death even worse!

Did anyone else notice how they introduced the cordyceps fungus through the yeast fungus or flour in baked goods? The visibly undercooked biscuits being fed to the old woman who turns first, the cookies Sarah is given (and never eats), that Sarah and Joel eat eggs when they were meant to be eating pancakes, the cake that Joel forgets to pick up, and that Joel is on the Atkins diet, meaning that he's not eating carbs, like bread made with yeast fungus or flour.

One thing I loved was that they fleshed out Joel and Sarah's relationship a little more. I still got vibes from the game in their interactions, and I loved their dynamic. The only downside is that it made it even harder to watch Sarah die. I genuinely had to pause a pace for a few minutes lmao. Can't wait to see more I'm so excited.

I've always questioning Why'd Sarah has to die with a f bullet, on this 1st Episode I just realized, that soldier trying to shoot her from the first time cause he knew Sarah got injured and probably he thinks that Sarah was already infected. Oh I love this Series

Watching this cause it was top of my suggestions, and honestly same in playing this several times. I’ve played Part 1 over 30 times in varying difficulties and am beyond happy that this show finally happened. There is one "County jail" for any given county, he might have been over an hour away from the jail, even if Tommy was 5 minutes from his home when he was arrested. 7:08-7:10 Does *EVERYONE* think that people who are bound to a wheelchair spends 24 hours per day in the wheelchair? Generally, a csregiver moves them from the chair, into the shower, as well as onto the toilet, and also into a bed every day. They don't stay in the wheelchair at all times. You're the 14th reactor I've seen alarmed that the chair is empty at 2 something in the morning. [Yes, I know she's infected and we see that in a moment, but seriously. At 2am, she wouldn't have been in the wheelchair last week!] 17:05-17:18 "promised the mum to look after her and then put her in military school." Marlene is a resistance fighter, I don't know how high up she was when Ellie was a baby, but think about this. The FEDRA academy is a heavily defended orphanage and military training academy, someplace the Fireflies won't touch unless they have FEDRA almost beaten. Is an infant or toddler safer with a resistance fighter, always on the move, always afraid of being found, always on the brink of being killed, or in what is likely one of the most heavily guarded facilities in the quarantine zone?

Wow! I just watched this early this morning. I think everyone was with Alyska when the scene w/ Joel & Sarah started to play out. All of the creative choices they made to this were perfect. All of the familiar details from the game, and all the new ones here (the creepy tendrils from the infected grandma's mouth!!! 😱). They really captured the reality of the CBI and made it more relevant and recognizable in our time. If this first episode is any indication as to how the whole season will go, this will be a real treat. 😎👍🏼

I haven't herd that they nixed the spores, but it makes sense with Padro Pascal as Joel. Padro wanted more screen time on The Mandalorian. With having to were a gas mask thru multiple episodes. No Tommy was played by Jeffrey Pierce in the game and Gabriel Luna on the show. Marline is the only actor (so far) that played both rolls.

Also a main change they made from game to show is that spores are no longer a threat. It doesnt linger in the air, instead theyre using tendrals as the non-direct contact form of infecting ppl. Im assuming thats what was in the old lady's mouth 😅

I love that they have removed the spores. They were dumb as fuck in the game, basically we will all be dead in a week. Now they have those mycelium coming out of the mouth, which is more manageable to survive.
