*The Last of Us* is TERRIFYING, yet incredibly BEAUTIFUL?! ~ Ep 1 & 2 Reaction

New series alert!!! Hey y'all, I'm back with the first two episodes of The Last of Us and I'm already so obsessed with this show, it's not even funny. I'm scared, and in awe all in one, and I can't wait to see how Joel and Ellie's relationship advances. It's such a different type of "horror" considering this could ACTUALLY HAPPEN... (yay!) and I can already tell the story is going to stick with me for a long, long time. Hope you guys enjoy!

The people who turn from the infection are actually still alive, as the fungus never kills them as it still needs the hosts' brain to work in order to use their bodies as a vehicle to infect others. In the game, some of the infected can be heard crying and saying slightly incoherent words, showing that they still have some sort of consciousness which is pretty horrific.

You must’ve completely missed it, them lying and killing that kid was the best way to do it. The kid was infected, that’s why they tested him and it came up red which means infected so the woman was being sweet and trying to give him happy thoughts and ease his mind while they kill him with an injection because it’s the most peaceful way to die. They weren’t killing him just to be horrible people. It also never said people were immune, that’s only Ellie no one else has been immune before

I realized when editing what it meant! at the time, I didn't know what the device they were using was, so I got tricked just like the kid. I'd assumed at that point they would've had some type of medicine (like the woman said they did) but alas, they do not

I feel like people miss this but the military at the start of the show probably only knows limited information like "its a fungus, you get bitten you get infected" so when Joel tells the soldier that Sarah's injured and he relayed that to his command... The orders were probably kill anyone that's injured...

Not all the infected are blind, only the clickers are, and they are kind of rare, it’s mostly regular infected that are around and they can see. There’s different types of infected and some are more dangerous than others.

The thing to remember in most zombie apocalypse shows or movies the characters are ignorant of the zombie fad unlike the viewers who are over saturated by it

hahah loved watching this! just in case you don't know yet, the infected CAN see, there's just different types of infected- the longer they're infected the more the fungus takes over their body, so the ones that couldn't see (clickers) had fungus growing through their skull and rely completely on sound, but the majority of the more human looking ones (like the one that gave Tess that dirty kiss) haven't been infected as long so they still have their eyes etc.. hope that helps! looking forward to the next oneee

What makes The Last Of US unique is that this could happen in real life and the cold opening where the scientist stated the “what if” the fungus somehow got into humans and control them from the inside. Is extremely terrifying. Also I watched video of the cordyceps taking over ants and it’s disturbing.

Can't wait for the next episode reaction! FYI, they are "infected", not "zombies". They aren't dead and reanimated, or "undead" lol. The fungus is more like a parasite that affects their minds, but the people are still technically alive. A dead person can't become an infected. Once they die, they're dead. So, the infected aren't actually trying to kill/eat people, just bite and infect them to spread the fungus and grow.

@@quntface1518 they're not, though. they're similar to zombies but not quite. the creator of the story literally makes it a point to describe them only as infected. zombies are reanimated corpses. the cordyceps fungus infects you while you're still alive.

Additional fun fact: the clickers (the infected inside the museum with fungus covering their whole face) use a very primitive sort of echolocation, hence the constant clicking noises. It also explains how they're able to pinpoint the exact location of things that make any sort of sound. Anyways loved this reaction! Hope you enjoy the rest of the ride 😁

I'm so glad you liked the first two episodes cause you're in for a ride for the upcoming ones. I played the game and I absolutely loved it, it's one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking stories I've ever experienced. Can't wait for more reactions! Also, the infected who appeared in the second episode are called clickers and they have been around for a while. The fungus has grown on their brain so much that they can't see.

Glad to see you reacting to this! While the infection is based on something real it took millions of years of evolution just to control an ant so I don't think we have anything to worry about any time soon. Also the prosthetics designer for the Clickers/Infected also did Vecna, Viserys from ep 8 of HotD and the radiation prosthetics for Chernobyl.

the guitar theme in the intro is a composition by Gustavo Santanaola, who wrote the music for the game. And the whole story, as you will understand very soon, is built around the relationship between Joel and Ellie (this is the main idea) It's fun to watch your reaction. I'm waiting for episode 4, not the third ...)
